I wore the Nimbus 12 for years (after stockpiling them when they went out of production), and the quality appears to have decreased. Running 60-70 mpw in the summer and hard workouts during the year, I never got seriously injured wearing the 12s, but I had hip and toe problems pretty soon after I switched to the 16s, even though I've only been running every other day (roughly 30 mpw) with them. The injuries eventually dissipated, perhaps because I stopped running on uneven surfaces, and I've managed to run about 900 miles in these shoes (about the same as the 12s).

The decrease in quality also appears in the speed with which these shoes wear out. The rubber soles were pretty worn down in places by the time I reached 300 miles, and are now almost entirely gone in those places. I still wear worn-out 12s as walking shoes and their soles aren't as worn down. The upper also seems flimsier on the 16s, though it hasn't caused problems.

Finally, the fit has changed dramatically. I wore the 12s in a 9.5 2E and they were slightly too narrow in the toe box, but it was never an issue, though my toenails took a beating occasionally. The 9.5 2E was way too narrow in the 16s. I had to get the 4E, which was too big in the heel (but fit towards the front), so I had to use a lace-lock to prevent my foot from sliding around. And yet my toenails were still getting pounded, in spite of the much larger toe box.

My toes go numb and painful in these shoes. I only use them for really wet runs. The sole seems stiffer and actually has less give than my Merrells, which I prefer.

I had the Cumulus earlier in the year and decided to go back the Nimbus. It was a great decision and certainly worth the extra few dollars. I really like the upper and how it wraps the foot. I do not intend on ever going back to the Cumulus again.

Have worn it for years. Wear it teaching and on my ElliptiGO as I cannot run anymore due to loss of cartilage in my knees - I think due to being told to wear stability shoes by some young kid working at a running store.

I use this shoe for all of my longer and slower runs. I've used the last few versions of the nimbus and have found them to consistently be a little too clunky for speed runs where I need my feet to be as light and nimble as possible. They're very comfortable though and the cushion has held all the way through 14 and 15 mile long runs.

I've been running in the Nimbus for years (and other high cushioning neutral shoes). Latest model is a pretty big change, but I still like it. I wish shoe companies wouldn't change models every year. I really should purchase multiple pairs of the same model.

Wearing Asics mostly for 20 years. They dont fail me. When I venture out to other brands issues seem to always arise.

expensive top of the line shoe but you get what you pay for. It is a well cushioned neutral durable every day shoe that gives me good stability, and makes it as easy on the joints, knees ankles, as possible. I have been in Nimbus since the nimbus 6 version, have tried Nike free and adidas bounce but have gone back to ASICS for every day trainers. I must say I do race in either Nike or ASICS depending upon the surface. Road race = ASICS hyperspeed, Track = nike spikes either matumbo or elite (?)

Great except the fabric in the heel covering the heel counter wears out very rapidly causing a hole and then blisters. Have to tape my heel for extra protection.

I've run 40-60 mpw for four years in this shoe (upgrading the version along the way) with only one major injury (tibia stress fracture after an intense steeple season) so I'm very happy with it. I would go through about four pairs of shoes per year, but partly because the cost was cut by my school and I didn't want to take any chances with my health.
