Mary Keitany the Heavy, Heavy Favorite in New York City Marathon With 60% of Fans Thinking She’ll Break the Course Record

NEW YORK — Mary Keitany, coming off her stunning 2:17:01 marathon in London in April, is gunning for a four-peat in New York at the 2017 TCS New York City Marathon and she is a heavy, heavy favorite according to the voters in the LetsRun.com Running Warehouse Prediction Contest.
As of 6pm on Saturday, an amazing 95.2% of the voters in the prediction contest are picking Keitany to win. Only 3.1% of voters are picking Edna Kiplagat, winner in Boston this year and runner-up at the World Champs, to come out on top.
The LetsRun.com faithful are also picking Keitany to crush the 2:22:31 course record set by Margaret Okayo in 2003, as the average winning time predicted for Keitany is 2:21:54.4 with 60.5% of voters predicting Keitany will break the course record. The media winning time, 2:21:23, was over a minute faster than the current course record.
