Moses Mosop of Kenya, 2:03:06a marathoner (2011 Boston Marathon) and decorated track and field, cross country and road racer, has unfortunately withdrawn from 2014 Boston Marathon.

During first week of February, after a fartlek session on a slightly downhill course, Moses felt pain in right knee and as time passed the pain increased. Moses did visit an established physio in Eldoret, Kenya and he was instructed to cease running for period of two weeks.

As city of Boston and Boston Marathon have special places in Moses’ heart, Moses in not willing to disappoint or gamble with the trust organizers of Boston Marathon have in him and he has opted to withdraw from this year’s edition, as he has not enough time to prepare as per marathon-specific cycle designed by his coach Renato Canova.

It is planned for Moses to combine marathon training and strength training, as instructed by our team and Robert Jongh (Physiotherapy Jongh & van Osta), with the goal for Moses to compete at 2:06:00 level over marathon distance in IAAF Gold Label Road Race at least 4 weeks after 2014 Boston Marathon.
