So who is going to the Big Dance aka Cross-Country Nationals in Terre Haute, Indiana?
Well, unofficially based on today’s regional results and thanks to the great programming work of former Duke runner Bo Waggoner, we are fairly confident the following 31 men’s teams will be competing in Terre Haute in two weeks. Update 11/16/2013: The NCAA list is out and the teams below were 100% correct.
Ivy League teams Dartmouth and Harvard snuck in as the last two teams on the men’s side as the Crimson pushed the Big Green (how is that for two politically correct mascots?) into the Big Dance as Arizona State was left at home as team #32.
The highest-ranked team not to make Nationals was Iowa State, ranked #24 in the Coaches’ Polls.

Note: There is a chance that Harvard and Dartmouth get left out and Arizona State and Boise State go in their place. It all depends on who gets in at #28 – Iona or Arizona State. At this point, Bo’s program put Iona in based on common opponents but the NCAA rule-book is vague on that front. In the three previous years of running the program, Bo says he’s never had to rely on the common opponents rule.
