Hi. My 13 year old brother wants to run a half marathon in a few weeks. When the race is canceled he'll just do a time trial. He's not much of a runner but he ran a 10k a few months ago and he wasn't terrible. He's overweight and doesn't do track or xc but he does run a bit. This is the training plan.
week 1: Monday off, Tuesday is a three-mile easy run, Wednesday is a 3-mile tempo run, Thursday is a 3-mile easy run, Friday is off Saturday is a 2-mile easy run, and Sunday is a fast 5-mile long run. On week 6 hell be at Monday off Tuesday 5 miles easy run, Wednesday 6 mile tempo, Thursday 5 mile easy run, Friday off, Saturday 4 mile easy run, Sunday 10 mile fast-paced long run. Week 7 will have a bit less mileage and week 8 will be a little shorter. For those who are more experienced with training for a half, critique my plan.
