Irrelevant to this post
but is it really? We're doing a case study to see if the average male can do it. Were basing it around you. So let's see if it is possible.

by no means average...
Special, yes. Average, no.
No. That is why they don't deserve to be on a high school team.

No, he cannot and will not ever do that
Yes easily. If you cannot then you're not a trained healthy young man.

More like 100%. I was the fastest guy on my XC team because only a handful of people wanted to participate in a sport for losers.

Only a handful really make any team at any sport. Most of them ride the pine.

The minimum 400m speed one needs is a 65 or 66 400m to be able to race sub-5 one mile. As you know, sub-5 one mile is about a 4:57 or 4:58 1600m. The vast majority of sub-5 one milers possess sub 63 400m speed.
I think you should train completely differently from what other posters are advising. Posters have been telling you to up your mileage. The novice swimmers on your high school swim team who cannot break 6 minutes, 500 yard freestyle swim are not told to up their laps. I know more than one high school swim & dive coach that have a 30/33 50 yard freestyle standard. Male high school swimmers often are not considered for varsity in an event unless a male high school swimmer is able to swim sub-30 50 yard freestyle; female high school swimmers often are not considered for varsity in any event unless a female high school swimmer is able to swim sub-33 50 yard freestyle. Learn how to properly sprint sub-30 seconds 200m. Sprinting sub-30 200m has absolutely nothing to do with muscle twitch ratio. We can have muscle twitch ratio debates regarding sub-25 200m on other threads. Work on your strength to weight ratio, your sprinting coordination. Get sub-30 200m managed, then post your progress. Your next goal will be a sub-66 400m. As of now, you most likely are sprinting incorrectly. Film yourself, then watch youtube videos of sprinters your same height & weight.
Telling you to increase your mileage is like telling little kids to play Beethoven or Mozart. immediately.
