Actual that’s overweight for BMI. Also it’s pretty embarrassing that you consider yourself a runner, who is overweight. Sorry to hurt your feelings, and stay out of the donuts.

I also couldn't believe I watched this entire thing but that's the times we are living in. It is certainly believable based on his mile time trial a few weeks back. His form has improved tenfold especially for a guy that big. Also he's not even 30 which is probably why he hasn't started breaking down yet, so good for him.
As for weight/nutrition I think he was pretty open about the fact that he struggled with disordered eating a little and I would subject that anyone who posts as many what I eat in a day videos as him and reports his total gram counts of protein/carbs for a meal likely still struggles with it.
Not impressed...I ran 3:44 1500 and 4:02 mile at 175... Today I'm 189 and can run mid 16:xx 5k without much problem.

This is pretty meaningless without knowing how tall you are. If you're 6'2" or taller, not particularly notable.

5’11”
Well that's for real then. I'm not a stick myself at 5'10/155-160, but always chuckled when people thought Solinsky or Mottram were HUGE running fast times at 6'1 or 6'2 and 160-165 weight. It's magnified based on 5'8/125 pound Kenyans/Ethiopian with pencil-thin legs being their competition.

Height-wise 6'1 and 6'2 are huge. Average height of a man in America is 5'9. 6'2 is a giant.
You are nuts. I'm 6'2" and hardly even feel tall. I know I'm not short, but giant I am not.

Go to a non-Western/non-European country...or go to even a Chinatown if you live in the USA...You have no idea how much Americans tower over other people in the world.
Go somewhere like Colombia or China or Korea and you'll realize just how massive and abnormal you are. Being over 6'0 tall is abnormal.
You are abnormal.
At 6'2 one is tall, but it's really only at 6'4" and up where I'd consider someone really notably tall. There're plenty of tall East Africans.
Dude... there is literally no way you're kicking a sub 17:30 5k when you're loaded to the gills at 200lbs at 5'9
I think we can all agree this was a pretty good result for Nick. Now I want to see what his endurance is like. Has he ever even raced a 10k or a half? Do another TT Nick let's see what you got!
In his latest marathon effort (Austin) he butchered his pacing and went way too fast. He finished the first 10km just about 40min and crossed the half around 1:31 before cratering and finishing in 3:24.
The "speed" seems to be there and I think better results will undoubtedly come if he can reign himself in and not get to excited and go out super fast like he does every race. He even admitted as such and ran his first 400m in this latest time trial in 1:17 which is 16:02 pace...
I wonder how much muscle weight can he safely cut and still perform at a high level?
It's insane that he's able to maintain so much muscle mass with his run training.
I am 6 4 225 right now. Ran 1:26 for half marathon last year and it’s my goal to qualify for Boston in 2021. Is it that weird for someone my size to run sub 18 sub 38 qualify for Boston?
Maybe I should create a thread and chart fitness vs weight as I get ready for Boston qualifier

Yeah I remember looking at his splits, that was a cratering of a cratering. He fell off pace after 6 miles and limped through really the entire second half. He really needs to learn to pace himself better, but that will come with time and experience.
Doing shorter races could help in that respect too

Giant? No. 6'2" is above average. Tall? OK. Taller than average. But you can't rightfully call 6'2" a giant in Western World. Giant is like very tall. Like most NBA players. Like at least 6'6", 6'7"+
And I say like MOST NBA PLAYERS. Naming a few shorter average exceptions (C. Murphy, I. Thomas) or tall by general public standards but short in NBA exceptions (Stockton) proves rule.
In 2017 I ran 15:00.7 for 5k (on Harvard's indoor banked track) at 192 pounds. I'm 6'2". But all of this is relative to one's own physique. It's not like I would run considerably faster if I lost a bunch of weight, because I'm more or less at my body's optimal composition. Same is probably true of this dude.

Craig Mottram was 165lbs at 6.2, do you really think carrying 27 pounds extra doesn't make you slower? LOL
Parker Valby post 5k interview... Worst of all time? Are Parker Valby interviews always cringe?
