Kids, I know your season is over but don't start doing things like smoking weed all the time- ESPECIALLY if you're a sprinter! When you sprint at your max speed or jump at max intensity, there are cells in your brain that communicate with your legs using electricity. The speed of that electricity is SO important for a sprinter. The faster the speed of the electricity, the faster the legs are able to push out so much force into the ground, and the faster you can sprint.
Weed SLOWS that electricity down for as long as it remains in your system. And weed can stay in your body for up to 30 days if you smoke one joint once! If you don't believe me, try testing it yourself. Go out and do 3 reps of 60m sprints - then go smoke a joint with your friends. Give yourself a day of rest if you want. Then the day after that, try sprinting a 3x60m. You'll feel your legs won't run or push out as hard as you want them to!
Weed is a great thing for humankind as a stress reliever or as a social drug so I'm not saying to discount it - but trust me - wait till you are old enough (25) to start some experimentation with drugs. Your brain will thank you for it.
