Bay Area, California
I usually run on the extenisve trail systems throughout the majority of the East Bay, and have been for over 8 years. I have never seen so many people on the trails. I am a healthy high school cross country runner who occasionally gets bored of running alone, so I have been running with a small group of teammates. A number of people acknowledge the fact that it is my choice, and my parent's, and teammate's choice to run together. These people do the courteous thing and either step to the side of the trail like we do with mountain bikers or look away from us, which I can understand. However, there is quite a number of older people who tell us to not run together. meanwhile these people aren't wearing masks, and it's not like I have ever seen them before on the trails that I have been running on for half of my life. Honestly some of you old farts can mind your own damn business and let me and my parents decide wheter or not I am allowed to run on my trails, some of which aren't designed for old fart ladies who want to go hiking with their overly aggresive dogs. In fact, the next old lady that tells me to go away or not run with my healthy friends is getting coughed on. Same with the next runner pointing at me and shouting "6 FEET!" while looking like they just saw a ghost. Like I am not going to give you COVID-19, and if you don't want to get it then don't run on my trail, buddy. Honestly it is also making my training 10x harder because there are 0 tracks open in my entire city and we have a population of 410,000.
