I just picked up a pair of the Saucony Kinvara 11s and I'm absolutely loving them as a trainer. Does anybody race in them? I feel like they'd be a solid racing shoe.

Just curious, how much do they weigh and what is your shoe size (US / UK)?
Interested in comparing these with the beacon V2 and the rincon.
No one has ever raced in them. Stick to kayano’s for race shoes.
Up until the 4%/Vaporfly, the Kinvara was the most popular shoe among the top 200 finishers at Chicago, New York and Boston Marathons. The shoe companies count.
Just wore my first pair in Atlanta for the marathon. Legs felt fine for all the downhill pounding we ran.
I wore them for two workouts before the race. Broke in very nicely.

10.5 US.
They weigh 8.8 oz

Nice how'd Atlanta go for you! I ran it as well, man was that a tough course!
I am amazed how quickly I was able to break in the Kinvara 11s that I just got! They felt phenomenal from the first run

Oh wow that's impressive!! I thought it was the Adidas Adizero Adios? Maybe they weren't as popular as I thought
Atlanta went very well for me. I met the young lady who won Atlanta last year and she advised being very conservative the first half as the second half of the course was pretty tough. Sage advise and I appreciated it very much as I was negative splitting the race.
I'm a size 9 UK (9.5 US) so maybe they would be about 8.2 oz for me. Tempted to give them a shot.
What's so good about them? Are they better than the becon or rincon?

Never tried either of those, they're Hokas right? I've heard the Rincon is a decent shoe, but I've never been a fan of the maximalist aesthetic.
The Kinvaras feel great out of the box, light enough to go fast in but also have enough support. Just a very comfortable shoe that feels good at all paces
The beacon is from new balance and the rincon is a hoka. Both are about 7.8-8oz in a US 9.5, but durability not that great. That's why I was interested in the kinvara because they are a similar weight and might be more durable. How does the feel compare to other shoes (soft, stiff etc)?
They're great. I used to train in Asics Gel Ventures (workboots weighing a ton), but now use NB880. Kinvaras are great racers.

I usually race in the Adios 4s and the Kinvaras feel a little softer than the Adios! They don't have quite as firm of a grip on the road as the Adios 4s do with their extremely durable continental rubber. It's a different kind of feeling but I'm curious to try the kinvaras in a race.
I think the Kinvaras are known for being pretty durable. However they get dirty very quickly haha but that's irrelevant
I use them wrote:

nice, you race in them over all distances? 5k up to the full marathon?
This is an interesting thread. I have used the Kinvara 10's to race a half and I didn't like the feel. Felt a bit too sluggish. I loved the 10's for training though.
Did you use the 10's before? If so, what are the primary improvements for the 11 that would make it race friendly?
