OP, it seems you view this as a negative. It is now incredibly easy to dodge the track team. Not that it is normally all that difficult: just don't show up.
You now have (actually you always did) the opportunity to train and race in the manner you believe is best for you. Not best for the coach and his contract and reputation, not best for the team, but best for you personally. You can now run for motivational reasons other than the glory of the school. You can do road races. You can run standard, universally recognized events (5km. 10km, whatever) as opposed to nonsense like 1600m. You can (I don't know if you will, but...) wear non-Nike shoes. There will be no peer pressure (enforced with fists when I was your age) to be loyal to any brand. You won't be listening to so loser coach who knows about 3% of what you do about training. Of course, these were options previously, I mean, nobody makes every runner in the distance join the team, but now, you are on your own. Just like Kipchoge. The sky is the limit!

Thanks, Dawg. I actually meant 'some loser coach'.
Look judging by the number threads started by teenagers complaining about what a joke their coaches are - and they literally appear daily - one has to wonder what they all seem obligated to run for these clowns. The obvious answer to every one of the "My coach told us to...." OPs is to simply not agree to be coached by him/her. Now, with the school closing, the decision is made for you. Party on!

Personally I believe it's not trumps fault its more Chinas' fault for not being clear or honest on the virus since it started. This is a good reason for America to stop doing business in China.
nbd, just stop trading with the US' largest trading partner in the world. Should work out fine economically
Canada and Mexico are most likely now our largest trading partners... China trade was already being scaled back prior to Corona in a big way. The more we can get China out of our supply chain for all sorts of essential things (drug manufacturing, finished industrial goods, etc...) the better. Corona Virus might facilitate that happening even more than it was and that is a great thing for our future.
This is why you dont eat bats, Asia. You end up breaking the world.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
