It does not only affect old or diseased people. It hits everyone extremely hard. Healthy people happen to have the strength to recover.
Probably you could not even attend work every day you have it. And you should not compromise your immune system while you have it.

The swine flu? Also, the death rate is calculated out of reported cases, there are probably many, many people who think they just have a cold, and who wants to get tested and then quarantined? If we had a really accurate number of cases, doctors predict a death rate of much closer to 1%. Also, it doesn’t hit everyone extremely hard, 80% of REPORTED cases are mild. You can even be asymptomatic (meaning you have it, you just aren’t having symptoms) that doesn’t sound like getting hit hard to me.
