The external noise is not coming from the X NOP camp. It is coming from the agitated , Kara and Women Running Magazine editors . I wish Women's Running Magazine would stop blaming NBC for having
"white males" on the telecast .

Galen showing up briefly for a little pr work once every four years shouldnt send him into shock.
At 0600 his kids were probably asleep.
Catholic masses are more prevalent than hookers in Atlanta. He could have gone to a service almost every hour at the airport based on all the announcements.
Guinea pigs don't sell shoes, personalities sell shoes.
You gotta give him a pass on this one. Wasn’t this when Alberto was testing testosterone cream on his son to see if random people patting Galen can trigger a positive test? He probably had specific orders from Salazar to avoid physical contact until they got conclusive results on the experiment.
Rupp may as well be from Kenya, given how much he connects to fans here. He's the anti-Meb.
Maybe he doesn't want anyone to cough on him

Rupp clearly doesn't care about US distance running as a whole. He isn't an ambassador for the sport. He has no interest in fostering the next generation of American distance runners. Obviously he should not be forced to do things he doesn't want to but it is entirely reasonable for Americans who love the sport of distance running to be disappointed that the best runner we have has no interest in anyone but himself and his family. Not saying the dude has to be on twitter/instagram/strava/etc. but even a modicum of respect for the ferociously passionate running fans that participate in this forum and elsewhere would go a long way.
This comment above is so telling.
“Rupp doesn’t care and isn’t interested in fostering the next generation”???????? That’s the ultimate empty headed instragram mindset.
Rupp inspires through, you know, WINNING THE FUKING RACE!! Not through superficial empty words, events, and superficial, fake, contrived marketing.

It isn't clear or unclear about whether cares about US distance running - or wants/plans to help out the next generation at some point in the future.
Some people are aloof, and socially awkward. That's their personality, and we should not rake them over the coals for it.
He's a great runner without much natural charisma, and that's OK.
Man, you guys are stanning hard for a guy who doesn't give a $hit about any of you.
Give the guy a break. He has little kids and is trying be a dad too.

Erin Strout blaming men again? Why am I not surprised? Must be a day of the week ending in "y".

You seem to have a problem respecting other people's choice of being, quiet, reserved, want to stay away from the spot light to focus on better things for them. Again, you don't seen to grasp the concept of "it is HIS PREROGATIVE" not to do so. Get a life whiner.

Indeed these whiners are pathetic!

Nobody in the world owes you a high five, much less an Olympian. Stop projecting your insecurities from all the times you got snubbed by the cool kids in hs
So do you also wish Kipchoge would disappear? Bekele?

hahahahahahahaha. I'm going to take down my Pre poster and replace it with a Galen poster after reading that post.
If I was Galen I wouldn’t do it either. Sounds boring as s**t

HAHAHAHAHAH. LR is being filled with liberal snowflakes more and more
It's a dick move. He's the US trials champ and the people running the mass race are more likely to be distance running fans. If you want people to care about this sport so it gets more coverage and more funding then it's up to the very best runners, the faces of the sport in the US, to get out there and promote it. All he had to do was stand at the start for 20 minutes and wave as the masses crossed the start line. It's minimal effort, he didn't have to talk to the media again.
I compare him to the genuine sporting superstars out there, LeBron James, Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Leo Messi. Those guys know how far a little effort with fan outreach can take you. To be honest, USATF should make promotional duties a condition of a place on the Olympic team. Other sports do this but that would require USATF to be a competently run organzation.

No. NOP has been dismantled by Nike (!) because the head coach got banned for three anti-doping rule violations (five according to USADA). Now that same head coach is also banned for emotional abuse with sexual innuendos - disgusting.
Nothing like that with Kipchoge or Bekele, but equally I'd prefer the Aden guys to disappear.
