And she has been quoted as saying that indoor is not even her focus this year. She said right now it is about getting ready for outdoor. At the rate she's going, I'm excited to see what she can do later this spring!

There are actually a variety of body shapes. All are fit. But compare Koko to Allie O to Purrier
Anyway 9:07 “overweight” ????is a better achievement than that time not overweight
Everyone knows weight is important for performance. However yelling at teenagers about their weight, stress fractures and amenorrhea are all bad and won’t work out well in the long run

Do you think a fast adolescent girl, who then goes through a “slump” can come back? Has it been done before? In this scenario a lot of people (me included) have assumed that it’s over - will Mary Cain prove that wrong? Once a female runner works out her new body, if she had phenomenal talent, can it return?
Ayuko Suzuki went through a serious slump from age 16 to 18 with two cases of stress fracture. She made a huge comeback once in college, and made top 10 in the World Championship twice. (She has also made the 2020 Olympic team in marathon.)

That's way different. Injury-related slumps aren't the same as non-injury related ones.

If she makes it back to her best or not is irrelevant.
I agree, but, this is Letsrun. The boards demand top performances, they are quick to draw blood.
In a way, the trolls and negativity here serves a purpose to demand only the best.
That's the great thing about athletics. It's you and your performance and that's what matters.
the boards don't demand anything any more than a one year old can act as bouncer.
or whatever.
basement dwellers and 135 pound unemployed weaklings don't demand nothing
According to Jack Daniels VDOT calculator, her 9:07 is about a 4:15 1500. The standard is 4:04 so she should be pretty close outdoors in a fast and well-paced race?
4:04 would be an incredible comeback for Mary Cain but it would not be close to qualifying for the Olympics.
Look at the depth of US 1500m women last years. 4:02 Purrier had to pick the 5k.
sub 4:10 would be very good for cain after this indoor season.
It's going to be exciting this outdoor season. Hopefully Cain can run some great times.
How long until she starts getting some minor sponsorship offers?

I'm pretty sure Oiselle is already sponsoring her.
