Nice to see you’re still motivated and training at a high level. Are you racing Toledo virtually? I plan to race virtually. One more regular week before a two week taper.

How/where etc. are you doing this. I am interested in doing it for a lark.
Hopefully you are familiar with the late, great Bill King and his signature call "Holy Toledo!"
Sorry for the late reply, I'm still highly motivated and see this as nothing more than an opportunity to seriously push myself and see what I can become. I don't think I'll taper down much in mileage next week except from just not doing any doubles at night after work.
I'm nervous, but I strongly believe on my last workout I did this week I can go around 3:00 or less, but this is all optimistic and who knows, I could totally blow up and screw myself over. I'm just in it for the fun of it anyway so I'll take whatever I can
I am racing it virtually on a flat out and back on my local trail/bike path at home. There is a donation 'marathon' going on where I'm living where a couple of local guys are all pitching in $20 for and there is a $5 gift card to a local pizza joint provided. They're also setting up a few jugs of water and tables on the course with Gels. Very very few people doing it so there isn't any disturbance to Social Distancing (to the best we can). I have a family friend who will pace me but everyone else is going alone at different intervals so nobody is together in groups of more than 2.
In the middle of nowhere in Amish country, it will be fun to see what could have been. I've luckily not gained any weight during this Covid-19 shelter, I've indulged in a little bit more than I need to.
never knew he said that! I knew who he was but only because an elderly friend I have looks just like him with the Van Dyke beard and handlebar mustache.
April 6 – April 12
84.3 Miles, 10 Hours 55 Minutes Ran, 909 Ft Elevation Gain
Trying to take things easier this week, no long run but doubled often. Two workouts and what I’d consider a ‘long run’ day of two doubles with a few hours rest in between. Got a bit of runner’s knee going on atm so this upcoming week is no doubles. The most I’ll be tapering until the TT and virtual race on Sunday, plan on running 9,10,11,10,11,9,26.2 . Major GI Issues on Monday and Wednesday, felt like I couldn’t stop dropping logs and incredibly dehydrated.
Monday
AM Run: 8 Miles (7:29)
PM Run: 8.2 (7:19)
Tuesday
AM: 9 Miles (8:24)
PM: 3.2 Miles (7:38) Hilliest route I could find in my hometown, still not very hilly
Wednesday
AM Workout: 7 Miles (7:41) 6 X 400 (6:13, 6:13, 6:11, 6:14, 6:23, 6:13) W/ 400 Recovery (8:07, 8:08, 8:22, 8:34, 8:18, 8:29) Major GI issues on this run.
PM: 4.11 Miles (8:15)
Thursday
AM: 8 Miles (7:49) Got super busy this day with life, lots of stress. Felt rough starting this run but had a solid finish, began noticing this on a majority of my runs for the week.
Friday
AM Workout: 12.3 Miles (7:16) ~ 1:30 ‘Tempo Run’ (7:25, 7:23, 7:23, 7:20, 7:18, 7:14, 7:15, 7:15, 7:20, 7:15, 7:17, 7:03, 6:47) Done in a strong wind and cruddy weather conditions. Was supposed to keep it at 7:30 pace but ended up just feeling really good, probably the pre-workout I took before. Felt lightning fast.

Saturday
AM: 8.2 Miles (7:53)
PM: 5 Miles (8:06) Hilly route in town
Sunday
AM: 8 Miles (7:43)
Which toledo are you talking about? Toledo USA? or Toledo Spain?
Toledo USA, Ohio
My T.T. got delayed til some random time in May. It was a bad week, alot of depression and personal things going on.
If anybody really cares that much I can post the mishap of a week of training I did, but ultimately I ran a little over a full yesterday morning with nothing but a pack of Belvita Breakfast Biscuits and some Powerade Zero. On a poor course, blocked by amish buggies and lots of trees that were being cut down for firewood.
0 Motivation this week, ran a poor marathon at 03:22:36. Just didn't care I hope whenever things change in Ohio in May maybe I'll get to see my $20 donation reschedule my full. Otherwise, this cycle was a bust. But I found out atleast I love running easy high mileage, even if the time spent is a bit pointless.
Whatever makes ya happy I guess, If anybody wants more details just ask and I'll make a larger post/comment. Cheers to training for a marathon in a new way, with insanely high mileage and 80-100 MPWs for months
I wouldn't say this cycle is a bust. You're now more fitter than you were at Columbus. You have a new baseline to work from and keep stacking the mileage for another buildup to run fast later.
You’re right about atleast having a baseline to continue off of. I’m just gonna keep stacking the mileage and going week by week. Looks like virtual races will be the new thing for a while.
Closing this thread down as the last update, but thanks beers.
Another baseline thread will be made just to have something to keep me motivated to update weekly. I’ve also really enjoyed tracking the weeks. It’s a good record to keep for myself
Cheers LRC, I’ll be seeing you guys in the future with hopefully another great race update
