I run 60-70 miles per week and have 'decent' PRs (15:30 5k, 1:14 half-marathon).
Unfortunately, I recently got injured (ITBS) and need to stop running for 4-6 weeks. I want to retain as much fitness as I can and pool running isn't an option for me — so I'm turning to cycling. I've biked for x-training in the past, but don't have much experience cycling on a daily basis.
I'm wondering if there is any danger in jumping straight into 200-mile+ weeks. I've been doing 30-mile rides every day for a week and feel fine so far. I'm not that fast (I average about 18MPH on rides with ~2k of climbing, or 160-170 watts), and I know 30 miles/day isn't considered a lot for many cyclists. But given my background, does it seem like too much too fast?
