solid day of running. all in around 90 minutes. AN easy effort for her, but I reside in upstate new york, and we have never had a girl in my section run a 4:33 1500 in my ten years of coaching!

I also have never seen a 2:53 1k... a 9:52 3k, that happens once in 10 years.

So when did she peak? Last June? 2018?
I'm guessing 2028.
But it's interesting to say what's her best race so far
. Might be the 901 3 k
Cain definitely has the most impressive. High School times ever. 159 800. 428 mile And a 9:38 2 Mile.
But she had the good luck Of getting in Pro races when she was at her absolute best.
A lot of Katelyn Tuohy races have been on her own so far except for the 901 3K.

Yeah, they're going to lock us up for talking about an 18 year old running phenom.
Just like they lock up all those millions of people who follow. Teenage gymnasts during the Olympics
And just like they lock up those millions of people who talk about and watch. Teenage tennis phenoms
And don't get me started about the chess community! I heard they did a big. Raid on all those people who are talking about chess prodigies.
You're like a little nitwit! Like a little baby who can not fathom reality. Little kids have more sense than you!
A nice article where rai benjamin makes clear not every day is one's best day and per her coach Tuohys 3,000 at Dr Sanders was just a bad day.
"And so there has been much discussion when, after continuing to win but not setting personal-best marks for months, Tuohy recently faltered in an indoor 3,000-meter race against former high school phenom Mary Cain and other pros a year after finishing third in the same race in a national record-setting time for a high school girl.
But Diglio points out, while the race wasn't a standout for Tuohy, who ran it 32 seconds slower than she had the previous year, Tuohy's time is still nearly six seconds faster than any high school girl in the country has run 3,000 meters this year.
"She's being being held to Katelyn Tuohy standard," he said. "Any other kid in Section 1, you'd be doing back-flips over that."
Diglio, who says Tuohy is healthy, figures pressure affected her race that day. In part, she was placed on the starting line next to Cain, a runner she has long admired and whose records she has been picking off over the years.
After the race, Tuohy explained she simply didn't have it that day.
Diglio also said simply, "Kids are allowed to have bad races."
"The scrutiny she's under, everything is magnified," Diglio said. "She's not allowed to be a regular kid. You can go look at the pros. It's the nature of our sport (ups and downs). You see it far more in distance running. It's all peaks and valleys and plateaus. It's unrealistic and ridiculous to think every race she's going to set national records.""
That's cool. Thanks!
Doesn't really answer the question of how much she put the brakes on. In the race though and just decided to save it for another day.
I guess we'll see over the rest of the season
. It did just happen this year that she ended up running two meets that weekend and a third a couple of days before so.
Outside of not having a big effort run her times look pretty good this year from 1K. Through 3K. She's definitely running strong and has had some solid efforts.
Might just be a more conservative approach, which is probably smart. Why risk injury at this point in your career?
2:09.5 supposedly on 800 m leg today

Yeah, I heard that. Didn't see the race though, but pretty sure North Rockland was like 10 seconds back
. Too bad. I heard if it was close. She was going to unleash her new Superman dive that she's been working on. Head first from 5 meters out!
Hey, just curious. Do you always post under the name fast Tuohy? Every thread I see someone posting fast Tuohy, but it's never registered.

North Rockland was 11th or 12th coming to the anchor leg....Tuohy probably made up 40 -50 meters to come in 4th.
Looks like Starlper had a strong mile run 4:37
Tuohy ran a really strong time.
