Probably closer to billions of gallons of water if you follow the life cycle of every being and thing that was used directly or indirectly to make those jeans.

What is the alternative? We all switch back to wool trousers? I am sure before jeans, we all wore wool trousers. Can't wash wool trousers. Wool trousers must be dry cleaned. There will be issues with the toxic products dry cleaners use to dry clean wool trousers. If we all switch to wool, we need more mammals producing the wool. Mammals pollute methane. What about jalapenos? There is some vitamin C in jalapenos but I can get vitamin C from other fruit. I eat about 100 to 125 jalapenos a year. How much water is necessary for me to enjoy jalapenos?
