In 2015, she gave birth to a boy in the US, making him a US citizen. She's recently had child #2 but I haven't seen any mention of where he was born. Anyone know?

Anyone with better genes then the kid in running world?

Genes are much more complicated than that. The best runners are outliers in likely multiple facets—unlikely just genetics (consider prenatal development and exposure to testosterone, development of the lungs, etc), not to mention aerobic development pre-12 years old.
Even considering only genes, it’s way more complicated than we understand and probably a combination of thousands of genes luckily combined in such a way to create a symphony of running ability. Tiurnush Dibaba might have 10 children and never get such a kid because outliers are outliers. Two intelligent parents will, on average, have kids less intelligent than themselves.

True enough. That said, there is ample talent on her side of the family not to mention Silehi’s that might increase the odds. Also, the Dibabas and Aunt Derartu Tulu hail from the same village as the great Bekele.
Interestingly, aunt Derartu has a daughter Tsion 21 years of age who may be a college student in Minnesota and has not participated in running.
I'm assuming it was planned to give birth in the US? Like the Chinese who rent apartments in CA in order to give birth to their children.
