I would say some of them will go 62, you gotta remember this course is net downhill so it's not legit like Houston. Even in worse shape most of the guys should be able to run close to their best times (wont count).
The course is not net downhill.

But Walmsley's career might me.

lol, it's actually net uphill by over 100'. in that case Jim will probably run 61:30
Why is he running on Saturday? The race is on Sunday!

He wants to be first. That's easier on Saturday.
For real!!
Who the efff averages 150+ mile weeks for 6 weeks straight? His training is absurd, unnecessary, insane, unsustainable...he'd probably be better at all types of long distance races running 50 miles less per week.

Japanese marathoners run that volume regularly.
Yes, it’s on Sunday. I will be there @ mile 6.5 in the medical tent .
Weather in the morning, high 40s/low 50s.
My prediction w/o really knowing what his training is like, I will give a wild guess of 1:04:12.
63.43. Jim will run faster then his qualifying time. But given his recent mileage leg speed won’t represent his fitness. Wait till he starts rippin on the tapper and fauble/ward fanboys will cringe.

It is definitely not net downhill. It's almost exactly even, maybe even finishing a few feet higher. It has a large steep hill on the second half. The weather is almost always perfect, but it's a legitimate course, and honestly not really a fast one at that. You are probably thinking of Mesa-Phoenix which is in a few weeks.
Everyone who hates Walmsley must hate to see success

I don't think you understand the issue. Runners with some knowledge about Marathon training question Jim's training and almost everybody does not understand the Walmsley fanboys with their ridiculous statements about Jim.
Walms' is what lets run is all about. Mediocre college guy who goes for broke and becomes one the best ultra guys in the world and while at the same time going for traditional running success. Not saying this in a snarky way but he's what Sage Canaday wishes he could have been and tried to do.

same here. and i wonder why there's no marathon PB time listed in wikipedia?only up to half.
hold on!!! Sage prime days are way behind! Jim could destroy Sage nowadays!!! but no way he can beat him in the past... for example in 2013 at speedgoat when Sage ran at course record and destroyed Anton Krupicka!!!

He switched over to kms instead of miles a couple of weeks ago. They just figured they'd roll with it.
Because he never ran an official road marathon.
How ironic that the Atlanta trials will be his first !
4 hour time limit. Let's hope he can walk it in tomorrow.
