Did the HADD 2400m test today and noticed an interesting thing: that the speed differs quite much between the HR zones. Test result below (my first, I cannot compare it over time, with another test)
HR - Pace (min/km) - Total time (min:sec) - Diff (total time in seconds)
140 - 6:13 - 15:15 - 0
150 - 5:27 - 13:16 - 119
160 - 4:53 - 11:58 - 78
170 - 4:30 - 11:08 - 50
180 - 4:03 - 10:08 - 60
This test leaves me with a few questions:
* Does anyone know how to interpret this, why there's such a big difference in total time between HR 140 and 150, compared to the other zones? There's some between 150 and 160 also, but then it flattens out a bit...
* Can anything be said about my aerobic base (or the lack of it) at this point?
* According to my Garmin fenix 5 watch, my threshold is at 181 BPM, with a pace of 4:29/km. Does that seem accurate compared to the test data above?
* I had a hard time finding my lactated threshold (LT) only by (feel) performing this test. Should I stick with the HADD approach and build my LT using 160 BPM to start with, or should I use another value (based on my Garmin watch), if so, what seems reasonable?
Sincerely,
Hoek
