Colleen Quigley is brutal on this broadcast. Such cringe. Derrick is good tho
Ewert is very tough. Finishes 3rd at the Regional and then comes back to finish 2nd at Nationals (obviously no Dudek, though). She steps up in big moments and has had 3 straight solid performances at National XC meets. I'm interested to see how she does at Foot Locker.

The last place team had a :14 spread, proving the meaningless statistic.

Remember: Tuohy is preparing for the Olympic trials. Sure, she wanted to 3-peat, but qualifying for the Olympic trials and running her best there is much more important. She might not even be in peak shape today. Also it is surprising that Ewert and Thorvaldson were able to catch up to her, but I'm not surprised that she was able to kick. She has 2:09 800 speed. Maybe if she had stopped looking back it wouldn't have been as close
Weak excuses.
She's a mega-mileage obsessive runner on the verge of a permanent burn-out. I don't expect to see her a year from now.
Katelynne Hart in 50th place? And what happened to the whole manlius team? They beat Saratoga Springs at state and NXR but Saratoga put 4 between Claire Walters and Phoebe White (their 2nd finisher)? But huge congrats to Tuohy, Thorvaldson, and Ewert! And 6th place Carlie Dorostkar seemed to have the race of her life.
Fair to say Dudek would've won had she been there?
Tuohy's win obviously wasn't as dominant as years past, but she still impressed me a lot today. She's used to blowing everyone away in XC. When someone like that finally gets challenged, you don't know how they're going to respond. Some would hang their heads and pack it in. Tuohy fought like hell and ran like a champion.
Katelynne Hart went 5:17/6:10/7:12......
oof
Saratoga wins.
unofficial scores (quick math)
Saratoga 78
Summit 160
Niwot 171
Saratoga dominated... holy crap...
Cue that Cali coach complaining about 8th-graders in 3... 2... 1...

Cross country.
Where one week you can finish 10th, and the next, 87th.
Or, one week you finish 4th at NXN, and then next, 1st at Footlocker Nationals.
I wouldn’t be so sure to count out Touhy, she has these races every once in a while. Look at 2017 Millrose where everyone thought she was done.

7:12 for the last 1.1

or Vanderkooi....
I doubt it. They both might have been in that top chase group, anything is possible though.

Probably had a cold and tried to run usual pace.

You're probably one of the same people who claimed last year that she wouldn't win another NXN title and that this year she wouldn't win a 3rd. At this point I'm much more concerned for Hart, who finished in 50th than Tuohy, the 3 time NXN champion
Is Ewert also running Real Nationals? I hope so. She'd be my pick to win.

Man, I wish Brynn didn't get injured and we could have saw her peak fitness level at this race. I don't know if she would have been top 4, but I'm certain she would have been battling at least in that 5-9 group.
I actually think Brynn was the girl who fell down early on in the race.
With Saratoga vs FM this year, Saratoga's team has a closer spread and that is much more beneficial in a race like NXN compared to the State or Regionals.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
