just in case the midsole is still good after 1 and a half races they've developed an upper that definitely wont be.
buy more shoes.
This is a sample. Not in mass production yet but perhaps close.

Wow. Some deep investigation there. How long did it take before you found the word "SAMPLE" on the tag?!
That’s just a CFM sample, don’t get too excited...yet
Oh my goodness you are a loser.

+1
Revamp of the midsole and slightly different upper will be the mass production product. Truly an amazing shoe with a ton of effort put into development.
Are those actual springs in that little transparent box with the Nike logo?

word on the street is that you don't have to actually train prior to your first marathon to qualify for boston - will be able to boing your way to a 2:50 with ease (basically walking) - basically like the other Nike's today.
Those are some ugly as hell shoes.

It looks like the air pods that have been used in Nike "air" shoes before. They are supposed to be filled with a compressed gas and have what they call "tensile fibers" if I remember correctly. The descriptions I've read about the technology and how it's supposed to work claim that the fibers do act as springs, but that doesn't seem right to me. I don't think that's what "tensile" means, and if there's compressed air in there then the compressed air is going to be responsible for at least some if not all of the spring action. What makes a lot more intuitive sense to me is that the tensile fibers would be there to hold the pod's shape. Compressed air inside a pod would tend to want to make the pod bulge into a spherical shape. If you wanted the pod to hold a flattened shape, then you would need some structure counteracting the compressed air's attempt to bulge the pod. So I would actually bet that all the descriptions I've read about the technology are completely wrong. The compressed air acts as a spring, and the fibers are there to hold the pod's shape is what I would bet. But I could be wrong.
I mean, why even put compressed gas in the pods if the "tensile fibers" are providing the spring action? You could make them lighter by using uncompressed air, a less-dense gas like helium or hydrogen, or even evacuating air from the pod. I would love some literally lighter-than-air shoes!
Yeah it's the same structure as the Zoom Air units they've been using for years and years now. That tech always seems like bollocks to me. If you smush one down and just watch how the fibers spread out, there's no way they act as a spring. You're right, they pull, they don't push. Also Zoom Air pods pop all the time. Imagine spending $300 on this shoe, and the air blows out on you.
Rumor is that they are launching in September, 2020 and will retail for over $400. Get ready to see these at the start line in next year’s Turkey Trots! Boing Boing!

Ding ding ding! I love salivating over lame pics like this one. Really gets me going. Thanks so much for recognizing and pointing it out!!
It popped up in my feed and thought the brilliant minds of LRC (like the fantastic poster Answererd above) would like to see since I hadn’t seen it posted yet.
Someone with connection with people working in factory post it on the social media. If you look at the upper right watermark of the pic u'll know abt it, supposing u read Chinese.
If you read the tag in the picture, it says "Changshin INC.". Changshin Inc. is a Korean footwear manufacturer and one of its factories is based in Qingdao, China. That's where a lot of "made in China" Nike shoes come from. Of course there are other factories in China but if a certain shoe is both made in China and made in Changshin then it has to be that QD factory.
