Was she mad?
Was she mad?
Not sure why she even committed to this after Berlin. It kills her consistency.
Did anyone else hear Shalane’s assessment that Sara ‘thrives on chaos’?
That’s some honest commentating.
I thought Brenda Martinez thrived on chaos (read: tripping, falling, spiking, shoving)

That's awesome.
But I thought she did a good job. Would much rather hear her than Masback, and definitely instead of Josh the hugger talking about himself.
She reported an upset stomach the day before.

What consistency?
Read her reason before hating. She's going to rock the trails. #teamsara
Totally uneducated guess: she has a lot of mouths to feed, a hubby who doesn’t work and probably doesn’t have a huge pro contract. She seems to run a lot of races for prize money. She was out of the American prize money when she dropped . Probably saving herself for a pay day.
As reported above by another contributor, yes she reported on IG a stomach issue yesterday. Don’t wish to envision diarrhea exiting that fine booty.
She’s still my pick for the team come February. Go Sara!!

Yes , IG issues , I think she ate one of those dishes in Shalanes cookbook.
She made a bad decision to run NYC after running a big 2:22 PR in Berlin. Most people even the elites cannot recover that quick and run another fast Marathon.....unless their name is Yuki.
For an athlete who has competed as often as she as over such a diversity and range of distances and types of races, a proportion of DNFs, over that long career, is perfectly ok imo, except if it were, say, the Olympic Games when another athlete alternate might be deprived of the major money making and reputation bolstering event of their career.
Above.
She had lost touch with the leaders and look gassed by the 12th mile. Her form was all over th place. It just wasn’t her day.

I know this is a bad joke but the recipes from Shalane’s cookbook have actually eased a lot of my GI issues and I started using the cookbook to help with reaching race weight while maintaining high energy. I had been accepting my GI issues as a fact of life:

I was given her cookbook as a gift a few years ago. To be kind, it is a very mediocre cookbook. Very basic recipes with some random very inconvenient ingredients thrown in for no apparent reason. The food isnt particularly good or bad for GI issues. I cant imagine what you were eating before that switching to pretty normal food made a huge difference.
