Sara Hall got paid to do a 18 mile marathon pace run today it looks like. Bigger goal is on the US trials.
Mary got 2nd, very respectable.
Ward went 2:10, so is he the best US marathoner in 2019. Yes Korir went 2:07, but is going 2:09 in Boston+ 2:10 in NYC more impressive than going 2:07 on a flat time trial course?
Help me find someone to relieve my insecurities on(sarcasm if you can't tell).
Did anybody GOES HOME DEVASTATED today at the NYC Thon?

Anybody who watched the tv coverage was the biggest loser of the day. That may have been the worst race coverage there ever was. Only bright spot Craig masback was not one of the announcers
-
Kitata. Imagine a guy who was running with Kipchoge till 36 km in London was almost on the verge of beaten down by Jared ward
-
LRC’s effort to get the Vaporfly banned went home devastated, with the top two females running in Adidas.
-
Kitata Surely.
He might not even make it on the Ethiopian team.
Also, Desisa who had no business being in New York today. I have no idea when he dropped out. I just missed him at a certain point and kept looking for him. The commentators didn't even tell us......or may be I missed it.
Ruti Aga on the otehr had did very well. She went up against great athletes and considering the heat in Doha, she was up to it. -
Well, Desisa couldn't even finish, but Tola and Kitata just marginally better than blue collar runner Ward. Have a lot less respect for them now. Or should I just have a lot more respect for Ward?
Seemed Brett Robinson was the most devastated out the front runners from mid race. He was even leading the pack but was nowhere to be seen by the end of the race. Finished behind a ton of no name American amateurs. What was that?? Raynor too! -

Weird. I thought the coverage was by FAR better than that of any other marathon this year. Jmo -

Nor douchebag Josh Cox. -
The ENTIRE New York City Marathon went home devastated because the winner went 2:08 in a year when a 1:59 was ran, and a 2:01 on a legit course, and several 2:02's, and more 2:03's, 4's and 5's than you would want to bother counting.
Kamworor can have his day, but he is not one of the best, and he went to NY because he knew nobody better than him would be showing up. It's a has-been race! Not a major anymore. Not anything. -
At least the coverage was marginally better than Chicago’s putrid offering.
-
I think the NYC Marathon is devastated. Did they decide to cut way back on the appearance fees or something? It was a pretty lame field, really, Tell me there aren't 30 Ethiopians and Kenyans or even Japanese in the 2:06 - 2:08 range that wouldn't like a nice payday.

Yes, it was a lame field for a "major marathon". I assume they are not searching for the very best. -
Did Kieffer go home devastated?

ummm, did you know that if you put 30 Ethiopians or Kenyans in the 2:06-2:08 range then most likely none of them would win much if any prize money. There were already enough 2:04 runners in the NYC marathon to take the biggest prizes. Also, those 2:06-2:08 runners from Berlin or Amsterdam are not running under 2:10 in NYC. Likely would all be behind Ward.
Japanese? You kidding? There is only one Japanese in that range, and I believe he did another marathon recently.
