Some comments:
Stone: Great recovery to have really strong quality mixed in. I like that MP/HM tempo and might steal that one for next buildup.
JQ: You’re in sensational shape, so I can’t wait to see how you do in NYC. I can’t do those gladiator-style classes. My fiancée is into Barry’s bootcamp and the like. I tag along and am out of commission for multiple days ha as I can barely move my arms or walk.
Coach Jeff: Nice week and man the runs out there seem like something else.
RRR: Sorry to hear on the sudden injury. Just stinks but at least the fitness is there.
Gordon: Awesome progression run. I’m envious of these as I feel like they used to happen naturally for me, but now *maybe* I could pull one off if it was subbed for a long run.
Lanc: solid week, thanks for the good wishes. If I opt for a turkey trot might try my hand at that 800 workout...looks like at roughly ~5K pace 2min rest. Like it. College/HS me would’ve hated it, but now I’m stronger.
Slo: really impressed with this week coming off the half. Must’ve stung like hell, but you fought through it.
OR: really happy things are coming together for you
Guy: Happy to hear you’re on the road to recovery. I get antsy as well if I can’t let it rip, but you’re exercising some nice patience.
Pappy: Good progress with that 4 mile. Shaking off the fast start and slower 2nd mile to finish strong is a nice effort.
Sub-6: If you want to straight a PR shot/chance to win, NJ Marathon is there the last week of April. Don’t know how it’d work as far as the 2:25 and if they’d waive entry fee or whatever , but that is an incredibly flat course and I think you could win and run a really quick time, which would be cool. Does not look like prize money there, though...
Napper: Impressive motivation. Great that you’re feeling so good post-marathon. I’m out of my depth on saying if that’s a good or a bad idea, but you’re definitely in great shape and I think you’ll be able handle a quick start
GNR: very solid buildup, g/l in the half!
Stat: Great week, that’s an impressive tempo.
Drcrusher: awesome tune-up, very confident that that marathon/racing experience you have will make all the difference
RGM: I feel the same with how I worked into my prep for my marathon. Right amount of time, but should’ve come in a little more fit. A 50-miler is a crazy endeavor, interested to see how that goes.
As for me, going to see the next time I feel up for a run. Legs too thrashed for today. There’s a turkey Trot in NH near where my fiancées family is. Winning time last year was 17:30. Ambitious but if it’s not too cold I will try to be in striking distance. Going to hopefully run some good easy mileage and do some speed to manage the next 5 weeks. If it’s 10 degrees that day...not meant to be. Fiancée is doing 9+1 next year and hope to run some of those and train some more with her as her easy pace gets faster and faster. Maybe will take a shot at a fast half.
