She looks like a middle school kid.
Other than looking young for her age, how is she racing?
Ostrander PB in 9:30.85, but it won't be enough to advance to the final.
Frerichs 9:18.42 for 2nd in the heat and looked relaxed the whole way.

Allie-o! Did not expect to see her in this!
She qualified the other month.
9:30 and 7th today is that enough to advance?
Frerichs appears to be in medal form once again fantastic. Although Chepkoech looks as if she just finished a tempo run. No difficulty breathing at all despite the warm humid conditions. I hate to say it, but there is no way she loses gold again if she runs over all the hurdles.
Allie O. ran impressive as well. PBs in late september after completing the NCAA circuit, USAs and other races in between.

OMG. The boards are going to explode. They just said that they are going to have Quigley on as a commentator during the women's steeple. So she pulls out too late to let Howard run and gets to be on tv as well.
My gooodness!
I guess by not pulling until she got there, she was able to get the USATF to foot the bill for her flight, room, etc. Your USATF fees hard at work.

She's sitting as the 6th and final time qualifier right now. If anyone besides the top 3 runs faster than that, she's out.

At least she's decent as far as her commentating skills go. She added some explanation for her injury: hip marrow edema that had a somewhat unknown recovery time, so it might have been okay by race day, but might not. Ended up not, but sounded like something that was unpredictable enough that she had a decent reason to hold out hope until the last minute.

Just kidding, I viewed 'NR' as a 'Q' for some reason. She's eliminated regaredless. But a great race for her!

Appears to be no, one spot and about 0.7 out.

No, she's only got the 8th fastest time after the auto Qs. So she won't advance.

But she ran well and clearly belonged out there.
No, Ostrander is 8th fastest of the times qualifiers after two heats. Kudos for courageous running but ca. 9:25 pace for the first 2k was probably a little too fast.
The broadcast will be much improved. In fact, Colleen should color commentate all the mid-d & distance events. Colleen is great steepler, but should she move to the 1500 to stay healthy? She did out-kick Houlihan for a indoor title.
Quigley is a good 1500m runner, but she is 3rd best in US steeple with a fair margin behind her while there are about a dozen US women running 4:03 or faster.
That works for free, in german, Sorry for disturbing.

Did anyone else see that NBC showed the qualifiers for the womens steeple included Christian Coleman! What a laugh!
