This is unbelievable.
The article claims they will decide one hour before the race. Is this a joke? The IAAF is shocked it's going to be hot in Doha?
They clearly are fearing a lawsuit.
The race should be run or it should never have been scheduled for Doha. If they need to run it a few days later so it "feel like" only about 100 degrees (37.8) versus the projected 111 (44C) ,then so be it.
The forecast now calls for a temp of 89 (32c) with 80% humidity. That's pretty unbelievable as the projected starting dew point is 82F (28C). As stated above, the" feels like" temperature at the start is 111 F. That's unreal.
It's possible to run in hot weather. Just run MUCH slower.
If they still feel like it's too hot, they need to fly everyone to a nearby city where the conditions are doable and run it there. I'm serious. People have trained for 6 months for this. You don't just cancel the world championship marathon.
