Just thought I'd chime in here. Both Lance and Jesus are actually pretty stand-up guys; couldn't work either of them over though I tried like hell (pun intended). Anyhow, who gives a shit what anyone says here, because no one has anything figured out for sure in life. It sure has been fun screwing around with you folks over the years and making you think otherwise, that you were right and others were wrong. Hell, you even killed each other over it. Why are you people who claim to be athiest so defensive? Why do you care if we believe in a Savior? Are you by chance jealous? If so, why not look into the fact that there just might be a God.

2 Points:

-Catholic priests that abuse children are scum and should not be associated with the Church. Anyone who overlooked any of the atrocities should be lumped into that category. Just because a child abuser might claim to be Catholic, does not mean that their actions are Catholic. It is a big problem that was overlooked by jerks, and should be our main concern as a Church IMO.

-I do not know Hell, I cannot claim that I know what goes on in hell. I would assume that it is not a large room where everyone hangs out together though. I would assume that if there is a hell, it is all of your worst fears realized for eternity. For me, this might be being kicked in the balls, while being locked in a small box, drowning etc. all at once. I believe there is evil in this world, a source of evil beyond the human being. If this is true, why wouldn't there be a Hell?

So, believe what you will, it is not of my concern. But look into it, and actually think about it. Why can't there be something in this world that you do not understand? Do you really know everything?

To the sdude who claims apologists have refuted criticisms of religion. This is cause for an L.O.L. but forget that part - just ask yourself why there would be a need for people to "apologize" for something unless there was obvious reason to laugh it off. why does religion make people so mad? Cant we all just get along heh- believe what you want to believe- if believing in God/not believing in God makes you feel better about urself thats cool- even if you feel better than other people thats cool too but you dont need to yell at each other about it.

it is because religion creates the idea that the person who believes in a certain religion is right and everyone else is wrong. this in turn, leads to people thinking it is their duty to convert the others into their religion. the people being converted do not want to be, and the coverters tell them they are wrong/will go to hell if they dont.

and real hell breaks loose from there...

Let's reword this to what it actually means:

it is because atheism creates the idea that the person who is an atheist is right and everyone who believes in religion is wrong. this in turn, leads to people thinking it is their duty to discourage people from coming to know God. the atheists tell them they are wrong/have no evidence/are living a fairy tale/are stupid/are wastes of life and generally raise hell while worshipping their own paltry intellects as supreme deities.

Is that how Jesus would act? The incredible meanness displayed here is not going to change anyone's mind on either side.
