Looking for a new outlet now that running warehouse has stopped honoring discount codes and their pricing is no longer below retail.

I still have a discount code that's good for 10% off (rather than the old 15%). Who did you make angry?
If being a regular customer for years and using my running club's discount code (that is no longer valid) got me in trouble, so be it. And their prices, which used to be well below sticker price, no longer are.

I don't think people on this thread know what jumped the shark means.....
Doesn't make sense to order from RW anymore, just support your local store.
Heeeeeyyyyyyy. Arthur Fonzerelli.

What sucks is that many local running stores can't get Nike or Adidas because the chain stores freeze them out. I love to support the local running store, but honestly I can't deal with no having access to the bigger shoe brands.
It's not that the chain stores freeze them out it's that the big brands often feel like the local stores aren't worth their time and effort.
Tell me what you think "jumped the shark" means and how it apples here.

That's just nuts!
Nothing wrong with RW. They charge what they can to make a profit. If that's the best option for you, take it. If not, don't.
Between buying new trainers/racing shoes and my kids' XC season, people in my house have needed around $500 in running shoes over the last several months. I've spent that money at
RW
6PM.com
Local running store
Local chain sports store
I've bought shoes from all of those before, and will do so again. I've also used Amazon and eBay and a few other online sites, including EastBay and Kelly's and the NB discount outlet. Shop around, go with the best deal you can get, and don't get emotional about it. That's what the people you're buying from are doing. It's just business.
The code for my running club was cut from 15% to 10%. No notice or reason given though if course there's no reason necessary.

Did you expect a hand delivered telegram to alert you of the news as if you were Lord Grantham of Downton Abbey?

he said clever
Manufacturers are protecting the prestige and perceived value of their brands by enforcing MAP policies. MAP means Minimum Advertised Price. This is written into the retailer's contracts and is seriously enforced.
In a nutshell, the manufacturer sets an MSRP and parameters around retail discounts. The brands want to ensure that their latest offerings are sold for close to MSRP and not deeply discounted from the get go. The deep discounts erode the perceived value of the product and the brand. Retailers can set whatever price they like by law but, if they sell for too low a price, the manufacturer will simply close the account and refuse to sell the retailer any additional product.
RW is simply protecting its relationship with its suppliers just like your local running shop does.

If the "The Fonz" was water skiing in his Fruit of the Looms, this thread would make sense.
Running warehouse used to be my go to place for shoes due to their low prices and discount codes. Now their prices are no longer lower than the competition, and they've eliminated or reduced their discount codes. Screw them. Now I shop on Amazon for shoes. I can usually find my favorite models on deep discount there.
Running warehouse can kiss my sphincter. Cork soakers.

Let me get this straight. You are angry with them for not selling you shoes at prices that you dictate?

That's right. They couldn't iron a silk sheet if they had a hot date with a babe. I lost my train of thought.
Anyway, they suck the big one.
