He does not. The standard is 3:36 flat. He ran 3:35.25 in Berlin on Sept 2, 2018. Unfortunately, the qualifying window opened fives days later, on September 7!

Willis won it in 3:56, course record. 61, 2:02, 3:02 splits for leader.

There were 9 or 10 guys spread across the road with 100 meters left. But the ageless wonder walked ‘em all down. Nick Willis...an all-time great!

What a race between Osika, Lipari, and See. 4:27, 4:28, 4:29 or something like that. They were flying!!

Why are they filming this elite race on somebody's cell phone? Held vertically, at that?

That suuuucks. Hopefully he can get it in the next few weeks, I bet he has a 3:35 in him still. I think the window closes on September 7th.

Not that it matters, but it closes on the 6th.

Out of curiosity, how many sub 4s does that give Willis now ? Assuming that roads count. Wasn’t he in line for some kind of record for some consecutive years running sub 4 ?

According to Kyle Merber, Willis had 42 in 2017. He's run 5 this year, and ran 3 last year, so he has at least 50 now.
