At the 1972 Olympics Norbert Sudaus jumped into the men's Olympic Marathon and entered the stadium just ahead of Frank Shorter and pretended to be the leader of the marathon, confusing everyone including Frank Shorter. All I have ever heard since then was that it was meant as a prank. Does anyone know if Norbert Sudaus was arrested at that time? Did he serve time in jail? Are there any interviews with him? I never heard much backstory on this and if he ever regretted it.
Best I can tell you is that I saw his name in a business document within the past few years. Südhaus seems to be (or have been) an industrial exec/CEO. I believe he also picked up a Ph.D. but those are fairly "cheap" in Germany.

For him to be arrested there would have had to be a law in place prohibiting someone from running into a stadium just ahead of the leading runner. I doubt if there was one.

In Germany you can trample all over someone's private property whether they like it or not. Trespassing permitted!
