I mean I sorta of tried to say that. I agree with you that I thought McGee had more. I think the DQ was right because of the contact. It definitely affected the race. Osika was knocked off her (slowing) pace. McGee maybe could have waited and tried to get around last second but there was definitely a lot of contact there & not a lot of space.
Bor, Kebenei, Bayer, appear to be pretty close to locks.
I think Ferlic was really making a conscious choice to back off & not challenge the top-2. Will be interesting to see if he can knock someone off for the 3rd spot. I thought he looked a touch better than Mann + Updike if someone is gonna do it.

On my phone now, a friend is leaving for a long time so may not be posting updates. Enjoy the meet, y'all
Women's 10k is underway.
Temp is 72.
Dew Point
65°
Very little wind. SSE 4 mph
Weather is pretty good but it's clear after one lap it's clear there is no chance the standard goes - 81 first lap. The ladies are just racing.
I miss Natosha Rogers
Thanks for running the thread. Excellent work.
While the weather for the women’s 10,000 was better than it often is this time of year in Des Moines (72 degrees, 65 dew point, 4 mph wind), it became clear early on that no one in the field was concerned about getting the IAAF standard of 31:50 as the first 800 was covered in 2:50 (35:25 pace). With only three women with the 2019 IAAF World Championship standard, the 2019 worlds team was set. This was just a race for pride.

Weren’t Myles Marshall and Bailey Roth supposed to be the future of the their events for America? After killing it in high school, Marshall was untouchable every year at Heps but BOMBED out at NCAAs every year, and Roth only won one Pac-12 title.
Marshall 1:51 nonfactor in the 800 today and Roth 9:10 DFL after falling apart on the final three laps.
I think Marshall was a MUCH bigger talent than Roth. I mean Marshall was a US record holder at his age 16 right?
16 – Myles Marshall – 1:48.43 from 2014
Could Roth claim that? Even if he could the steeple isn't the same as like 75% of the people are scared to do it/ not good at it.

So I'm supposed to think it's fantastic that she qualified for the semis of USAs with the 9th fastest time of the day?
Yeah, all people capable of making the semis at USAs should go pro early.
This made me laugh audibly! It's absolutely true in my POV and people are so sensitive about some criticism of a professional runner. It's America, you have every right to disagree with Letsrun's assessment and they have every right to be critical of a runner who made an "interesting" choice in her timeline to go pro.
I would tell Sammy, "hey, you are pissed off about the interview? prove them wrong!!". That's the mentality that I try to express to my athletes and son - have thick skin, work hard and be a good person.
all in on stalnaker taking it heard it here first folks
10:40 for 2 miles.
I picked Hall for the win in the contest.
Kind of surprised nobody went for it. A couple women were close to the standard. The NAZ Elite women would have had a shot too. Weather is good enough. Especially for this time of year.
I pick Chris Derrick to bandit the 10K and finish in the top 3.
I just noticed Efraimson didn't make the cut. Not good.
