Can all of the stupid talk of Hassan doing the 5k/10k double please stop?

Just one race. Salazar successfully coached Mo Farah (ENG) to multiple 5000/10,000m doubles in the Olympics and World Championships, so he has the pedigree and experience.
Was it fast or slow?
Devastated? She just broke her own European Record.

The fact that Tirop could have won, let's me know that Hassan was very, very tired going into that last 400m
She has been racing a lot, and turning in a lot of spectacular races. The past few weeks she blazed at 3000m at pre, and then the 1 mile world record at monaco. That is a lot of hard racing!
She is not on fresh legs, and needs to scale back.. 2 more months to go...Take it easy at this point.
Even though Obiri won, she didn't look good to me. tirop almost caught her. Tirop has never been able to hang with them.
So not a great race for hassan or obiri. Hassan is doing to much running, and Obiri has really got her grove going for the season

Of course Sifan Hassan can race 5000m/10000m double at 2019 World Championships. I never read or heard anyone stating Hassan would win gold in both. Can Hassan medal in both? Yes. I am sure the reason why Hassan is considering 10000m/5000m double at 2019 W.C. is due to likely schedule conflict for 1500m/5000m double. Ten-thousand metres at both Olympics and W.C. is no longer high stess. Viren, Puttemans and Yifter had to go through heats. Now, time qualify and race 10000m sans heats.

She always looks rough. Still manages to win most of the time.
Too much racing for Hassan? You're saying that nearly two weeks is too short to recover from a 3k race to run a mile, and then another 9 days is too short to recover from a mile? Hassan is a world class runner with world class recovery resources. She's surely fit enough to recover from these efforts unless Salazar is pushing hard in workouts in between. If that is the case then I would say she is training through, not racing too much.
The Ingebrigtsens raced Lausanne in between Pre & Monaco and they also raced at London. They ran all out nearly every race and they raced very well at London as well. I'm sure they're training to peak in Doha as well.
I know she is world class, and I know she is trying to peak, but it appears that they are trying to take advantage of her fitness to break WRs. Hassan went into the press conference saying that she would be going after the 5000m record. She went after the mile record and broke it. No other runners are focused on breaking any WR. They do that in an off championship year. Hassan looked dead a s s in the last 400m. Those are signs that the legs are not fresh. For most of the race she was in the middle ,and didn't take charge until the the second to last lap. And they didn't go out at WR pace, so she should have a lot more in the tank. She is running hard too much as of late. The announcers stated that right now she is in the best form of her life. That's good and all ,but you want to be in the best form of your life come championship day.
I know we get on Centro and Jenny because they don't look good all the time when they do DL, or they don't race a lot compared to the africans, but they have a way of winning championship medals.....where the likes of hassan and muir don't and they fade down the stretch. So maybe having wr times or fast times or racing every week hard during DL are what is preventing hassan and muir from being great in championship races. Even Dibaba is not as aggressive during a championship year like she is during a non-championship year, Kipyegon never goes for WR , etc.
Also, there is a reason why muir and hassan are faders in championship races.
All this really means very little when it comes to WC - There are no more DL meets for a month, and that will be watered down as the Ethiopians will be in camp at the behest of their federation in the build up to Doha.
I’ll go out on a limb and say this now. Ayana will blitz the 10000m at Doha, she is currently doing exactly what she did prior to London worlds, relentless under the radar training. She will have a stronger field this time (arguably the strongest ever assembled) But she will win relatively easily.
However the 5k will be interesting as the main protagonists will have already run a hard 10k Obiri, Hassan, Tirop, Gidey. (Ayana won’t double this year)
It’s anyones race IMO
I’m sure it’s the racing mixed in with international travel and travel throughout Europe that is also got her tired. So she had one race out of the last 3 that she got beat? Big deal. She still ran pretty fast.
Anyways, this is a championship year where I wouldn’t be as concerned with running fast right now. They have a while to rebuild and pull in the reins before words in a few months.
I wouldn't be surprised if that were to happen. The 10000m field still isn't a big competitive field to me, and she will be coming in on fresh legs, plus hassan is not that experienced at that level. Plus there is something really suspicious about Ayana, in how she races. She barely races, but she got totally blown out the water at 3000m recently. She finished dead last. But no one is really thinking about her. She isn't a threat at 5000m, nor at the half marathon. So 10000m might just be the only thing that she is good at, but we shall see. I just hear to many reasons and excuses for why she is not racing or not in form. It's either injury related, or this or that. ....She is just really suspect compared to all the other runners, because everyone else races and are out in the open, even genzebe.
All you talk about is ayana. do you follow any other runners? You're just so sure that she will win with ease, considering she has been terrible for the past 2 years, and is no longer a factor at 5000m.
And as far as the WC, It does matter. If you are a top runner, and you blast through DL Races, but at the WC you fade. There is a problem. WE see it with hassan, muir, Timothy C at 1500m. Timothy is running 3.29 in almost ever 1500m race, but he is win-less in championship races.
Its like the way Gatlin races. He will peak right at the championship meet, while everyone else is blazing through meets before the WC. And he will come up big. He did at Worlds at USAs, etc.
It's comical watching Hassan try to actually kick. I hope she doesn't forget what Obiri does - though it's forced, she has arm action that actually makes her go faster. It works!
I suspect Salazar deliberately trains his athletes to run with crab arms.
In answer to your question, yes I follow all the worlds best female distance runners and greatly enjoy watching them all.
I usually comment on Ayana as I am in semi regular contact with her husband/coach and additionally her appointed individual handler/manager From GSC. Without betraying confidences these discussions give me very good information on her current situation, training, rehab and race plans. If you can be bothered see if you can pick my identity on her hubbys FB page, - I’ll be the only “friend” from New Zealand ?
Hassan just needs a little rest. Her recent 3000 mark and victory trumps Obiri's run today, easily. Didn't Obiri get crushed in that 3000?
Look, it's all about who peaks just right for the WC. It's gonna be exciting. These are two amazing athletes at the peak of their careers.
Ignoring Stockholm DL when she fell, When was the last time Obiri lost a 5000m race?
This post was removed.
What is this title LRC? Smoked is 2 seconds back, a PB & NR 5 days after setting the WR in the mile. I'm sure OP regularly crushes 5k's after running 4:12 in the mile with travel throughout Europe. & yes, Salazar is devastated after coaching her to the mile WR.

RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
