The KING!! WORLD RECORD RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER. ANYTIME NOW!
-
Very encouraging that he is fit several months ahead of the indoor season.
-
13:04, a pr, in a win where the world junior champ from last year was close to him and the other guys about ten seconds back. Did they just create that gap in the last lap or two or did they break away early? Cheserek is going to break 13 decisively when he starts getting into the big races. I am surprised that Henrik, who had run a national record 7:36 recently, was not closer and the only thing I can assume was that the field ran slow and then the two guys kicked away. 7:36 is worth low 13. Solinsky ran 12:55 with only 7:34.
But what I'm more interested in is the fact that it lists Cheserek as American. Did his citizenship come through? If so, can he compete at the Olympic Trials with this qualifier? -
That ranks him 3rd Kenyan. Why doesn’t he simply run for Kenya. He will be past his prime by the time he gets his US citizenship.
-
If not american 13:04 gives him a fair chanse of making the kenyan trials.
-
Also, from this meet Makhloufi got his 800m qualifier, a second faster than last time out, 1:45.33 behind Alfred Kipketer. Next time out I take it he'll be going for the 1500m qualifier.
Aisha Praught ran 4:06. A Japanese long jumper had a fine 8.32, and a shot putter from Luxembourg went 21.02.

Cheserek has been in the states for 10 years, and he still does not have Citizenship?
That is inexcusable. He should have had 5 or 6 years ago.
What is the problem? -
So after all the hoopla Cheserek is not even as good a Ben True?
-
Only chance to compete for Kenya is that he goes to the Kenyan Trials and place among the 3 best. They have the same selection rules as USA .

Such a long time usually means there is something wrong with the applicants background. -
Clearly Russian interference....Muller will straighten it all out on Wednesday~!
-
The problem with Ches is that the Kenyans Trials will be at altitude, hot, dusty, and gangster.
He needs to get over there and train and race and then he will make the team. -

Exactly. That prissy stuff running up and down a highway and on an all weather track ain't helpin'. -
To all the doubters:
The King Hath Spoken -
he has been training at altitude since he turned pro but he has said he wants to compete only for the U.S.

He won’t get citizenship before 2020. Depending on the election outcome he’ll have a choice to make.
