Seeking a pair of either in size 11 or 10.5. Striking out everywhere I look. Trying to PR at the road mile in mid August.

Speed Elite is more of a distance racer. I would try getting the Reebok Floatride Run Fast Pro since the NB FC 5280 isn't out yet.
The original colorway is on discount to $170 from $250 on RW, so it is around the same price as the others.

That shoe lacks the carbon fiber plate I'm looking for.
Don't listen to that guy anyway. Reebok has lots of paid plants and shills on this forum. Those shoes aren't anything special, just light weight, but considering the price tag I would go so far as to call them trash. You definitely don't get what you pay for.
Unless you have some kind of connection, or you just happen to run across someone trying to part with their early/sample pair, you aren't going to find either of those shoes right now as they aren't released to the public yet. Your carbon plate choices on the market right now are the Nikes and the Hokas.
Really I'd say it depends on how fast you are/are trying to go. With a distance as short as a mile, $200+ carbon fiber racers wont make as big of a difference over regular flats as you might think. Those kinds of shoes are built for the people already at the elite level and trying to get every tiny advantage they can. As an athlete with a sub 4:30 mile, big PRs are always a reflection of your training, not your gear. If the money's burning a hole in your pocket and you can already run at least a sub 5 mile, the 5280's will definitely be the better mile racer when they actually come out. Otherwise, I'd say just use regular flats and good luck!
BUMP
Need a pair of either by 8/18!
Speed elites dont come out until September according to Runningwarehouse.
Neither of them come out until fall.

I'm aware of that. I'm trying to find someone with a connection. I found size 12s on ebay, but need an 11 or 10.5.
What is the Skechers Speed Elite? I am aware it's not out yet, but I've seen a lot of prototype Skechers and can't keep a lot of them straight. Is this the one with the carbon plate in it? The Zebra print one for a while?

I actually have the Sketchers in an 11. But seeing a man baby whine about needing a pair of freaking shoes is really off putting. Good luck, but you ain't getting mine.

Saw those as well. Nice pair of prototype Ethiopia milers he's got for sale as well. Had not seen a pair of those with removable pins.

If you want me to elaborate, I plan on taking a lengthy break from running this Fall after the birth of my first son (late August/early Sept) so I'm trying to peak for the road mile in mid-August before then.
It's literally a long distance racer anyways. Just get the Reeboks.
Your peaking isn't going to be any better by using a shoe like the Vaporfly or Speed Elite for THE MILE.
That's absolutely pathetic. You should re-evaluate running if all your hopes and dreams are riding on a pair of shoes. The shoes aren't even released yet. What ever did all the people who came before these shoes do? How did they ever PR? How is that possible that they ran a good mile without the Speed Elite or 5280?!??! Impossible!!!
