So Brett Larner has a piece up on his website talking about how few Japanese people won the lottery for tickets to 2020. One company reported that its employees were successful in the lottery less than 3% of the time.
Brett Larner himself has a little more success as he got tickets to to 3 of the 28 events he applied for (10.7%). However, he writes, "Interestingly, one of the ones I didn't get was stadium seating for the men's marathon finish, showing what a hot ticket that is going be."
That implies that the stadium seating for the men' smarathon is sold out. How in the world can that be true? Their going to fill an entire stadium with marathon fans sitting there for 2 plus hours waiting for the race to finish? There is nothing else in the stadium that day.
Anyone got a theory on this?
