Very impressive. Top 10 all time.
She is very fast. Have to admit I was not really aware of her before this. What insane closing speed, insane to look at her form compared to the others in the race. Rock solid though I don't know if she has work to do.
Also she is incredibly hot.
Ridiculous.
Perfectly clean, I’m sure. /s off
The girl is in overdrive
Too lazy to look it up, but wouldn't that have won a gold or silver medal in every WC or OG? I recall the silver being won with 10.75 at one of those meets, so maybe it would have gone to the thousandths in that race, but still ... that's one of the all-time great performances in the event and would be right in there for the gold at almost every global championship.

That’s what I said: ridiculous.

Yeah, considering some of the lot that have run 10.75 or faster (e.g., FloJo, Marion Jones, Carmelita Jeter) ...
PEEOING! (sound of needle stabbing butt cheek) ... SHQUIDZHHH (sound of plunger squirting preposterous super-cocktail into said butt cheek)
Then again, I wouldn't be surprised if Evelyn Ashford (10.76) was clean, so maybe it's possible after all. Look at this physique and compare it to the others that have gone that fast:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Mdu3fQXBUEAnd upon further reflection, I doubt anybody believes Marlies Göhr or any of the other Eastern Bloc-Heads were clean BITD, and Göhr looks almost svelte and feminine compared to the Jeters (and Jarmila Kratochvílovás) of the world. So maybe Ashford was juicing with something tame by today's standards as well.
That's the rub of going that fast if you really are clean - it's still gonna look pretty fishy.

Both Ashford and the E German women sprinters looked like they avoided upper body weight work: Unimpressive arms, thick legs. Koch was this way also.

Are you jealous Peter?
Göhr actually tested positive for steroids at 17, in 1975, during the european junior championships in Greece, a few months after they were officially banned by the IOC. You can search for it...
Back then she was still the maiden Marlies Oelsner, a mere 11"4x sprinter. Two years later, in 1977, she broke the 100m WR and therefore WJR in 10"88. The same WJR than Richardson literally obliterated yesterday in 10"75 by cutting her effort a few meters before the endline blowing up a field of 10"9x girls...the conclusion is yours
4 years ago, the flavor(s) of the week were Candace Hill (who ran sub 11 at 16) and Kaylin (sp?) Whitney. I am pretty sure that people on this board remember these names. They are roughly the same age than Richardson, but where are they now, or no, where was Richardson 4 years ago when these two teens were offered pro-contracts ?
suite to follow...
suite of my post from above...
Not that I am accusing Richardson of anything, this actually make me very wary about teenage sprint phenoms from HS that have popped this past decade.
Training environment in HS varies too much, some HSers are getting semi-pro training, others not so much.
Sprinting is basically a performance sport , technique is secondary, this is why you have guys like Sani Brown running 9"97 at 20, with terrible technique. A guy that does not have perfect attributes for the sport but get world class training is going to perform better than another who's fitter for the sport but receives poor training.
College tends to "equalize" things, coaching is more standardized and an HSer that was head & shoulders above the rest thanks to better coaching (not all parents have the financial means to pay for a private physio for their progeny) is suddenly getting overtaken by the bulk...
I don't know about Whitney, but Hill's downfall was signing up with an idiot coach who had her doing stupid workouts that begged for injury.
That said, Richardson is on a different level. No woman in the world has run that fast in years, much less celebrating 5m before the finish.
LOL @ the names Sha'Carri and Twanisha. Probably the civilization that named kids Gertrude and Bertha?
Looking at the vid, she really didn't slow down as much as I had thought when I saw the race on TV, maybe only 0.01-0.02
Her form reminds me of Tianna Bartoletta, someone who I always thought was under-rated in the 100m.
If she can keep this up until WC, the W100m will be a real battle...SAFP just clocked a 10.88 into a headwind at Racers.
Notwithstanding this clocking, I think she has a way to go before she is competitive with either SAFP or ET, though.
Richardson's basic 100m progression:
2015 12.51
2016 11.44
2017 11.41
2018 11.65
2019 10.84
Ignoring 2015 because of the super headwind of -4.0m/s, and lowering 2019 by 0.02s for celebration, you have the following annual basic progression:
11.44
11.41
11.65
10.82
A bit of backsliding in 2018 for whatever reason, it doesn't matter, you can exclude that whole year.
Plateaus at 11.4-low, then hits 10.8. A basic improvement of 0.60s, assuming earlier consistency at 11.42
How many times have I detailed that signature 0.50 improvement over 2 seasons in other athletes. And Richardson improved by 0.60!
Oh, and the improvement was not from 12 to 11.5, it was from decent also-ran to a top-10 all-time world-beater.
Where have we seen this before?
Just sayin'.
0.50-over-2-seasons thread:
This was sure a boss run from Richardson. I don't like her start mechanic, I think she stands to gain easily 0.05 by having a better body position. She is a power runner, pounding her way down the track, and is absolutely inexorable!
That rate of improvement is sick. She needs to strike while the iron is hot, and go pro NOW. Enjoying the shelter of the NCAA is one thing, but out in the world she needs a team behind her.
100m is her sweet spot, it seems. Start needs work, and no historic status achieved (yet) in the 200m.
Bottom line: I would LOVE to see her win WC, beating the Jamaicans in the process.
