I especially like Fisher because he knows how to race. He has had this ability since he was in high school. Talent and brains is the reason.
Apart from his running talent, Fisher has his stuff together and people admire him.

He will go on to do great things in whatever and wherever he chooses to go and do throughout his lifetime.

What? Of course NOP would sign him. He's one of the fastest collegians of all time.
He might be but he would have no shot at NOP. Look at their last 4 signings Brazier, Murphy, Kejecha, Hassan. These are top level talents. Grant is good but he’s not even the best runner in his events in NCAA and nowhere close to the level yet of NOPs athletes. I guess he could run with Jenkins?
It takes longer for 5k/10k runners to reach their potential compared to the 800/1500 guys like Brazier and Murphy. He's at about the level Eric Jenkins was prior to being signed. The difference is Jenkins wasn't a 2-time FL champion in HS, so he doesn't have the following of Fisher.
I too would love to see Fisher at NOP because they are traditionally way better at developing talent (at least for male athletes) than the others. However, NOP tends to get the Oregon guys or transfers, while BTC gets all the Stanford alums (McGorty, Fraser). I would be surprised to see him pass up the opportunity to run with McGorty and Centro.
NOP is tarnished due to the drug use accusations and known gray area drug usage.
That, to some athletes, is something to consider. Through association comes questions.

Fisher is as good as it gets as far as Americans go. He'll run under 13 someday

I don't know why, but I get the vibe that he will have a short (but probably successful) career and then just go on to do real life stuff. He strikes me as a guy who does running because he is just really good at it. In HS it was mentioned it was tough for him to give up soccer. Then at Stanford the coach had a sit-down with him because it was tough for him to chill out on his engineering major. Maybe he is just a go-getter and goes all-in on everything he does. Just can't shake the feeling he won't last as a pro and will go on with his life. Hope he proves me wrong.
Everyone’s life has segments to it.
Most change careers a few times and with each change comes a new focus and continual learning, skills and knowledge. At least that is how successful people treat their journey.
Why wouldn’t Fisher be all in as a professional athlete? Being a pro in any sport is a brief time in that lucky persons life. Anyways, people do more in a day then just their job - hopefully. Balance is the key to pretty much anything. Whether that balance is made up of 70 percent one thing, 20 percent another, and 10 percent of something else.
All work and no play makes anyone dull and ultimately unsuccessful person.
My guess is Fisher will have a two or three Olympic years longevity.
That is a long time as far as professional careers go yet it is a short time in ones life journey.
He is very good but may only run 13:20 over the next few years. In that case, I could see him moving on.
The Stride Report published an article on Fisher the other day, and in the Instagram post for the article Patrick Joseph (800m guy with Tinman) commented the hammer/axe emoji that the Tinman guys use frequently...Could Joseph be hinting that Fisher will be joining them?
I hope not. Best not.
Can you imagine Grant, as an Alpha male, training with all those beta males????
Just NO.
He is better off joining NOP/ Bowerman
Brooks is very likely in the equation and in a big way due the many obvious and compelling reasons why they would want and need an athlete like Fisher.
Grant is most likely signing with Skechers and will train alongside Ches as Skechers tries to build up enough big names to form a track club to rival nike.
I think the Beasts would be a great fit for Fisher. Lots of recent signees who have been very successful in 1500m-5k (Yorks, Wynne, Maggard, Kerr, etc.)
Hopefully anywhere besides sketchy NOP.

Sam Parsons and the official Tinman account have since liked Joseph's comment. Seems like it would be a weird move

You guys are seriously pathetic for reading so much into every comment and like. As if there is no way Tinman is just trying to recruit him, like every other running club in the US.
He’ll be a Brooks Beast and ultimately have a disappointing career retiring too early after he fails to make the 2024 team.
This is very good news. Maybe grant gets an individual sponsorship with Adidas, and joins them. Adidas has done a really good job over the past couple years of getting the good young track and field talents in America. I know in high school Drew and Grant seemed to be pretty friendly with each other off the track. The ball seems to be in motion :)
Grant is a super nice young man with a good head on his shoulders. He makes a lot of smart decisions and he has ZERO chance of joining Tinman.
