Kicked it in FTW at conference in 29:26.06. 48th place in the west regional is 29:26.05. How on earth did they let this happen???

What happens when you sit and kick. What a coward. Gets what he deserves.
10k was never the goal. I am pretty sure that if he had run the 10k at the Big 10 Championship with the idea of running a qualifying mark he would have gone and run 29:00 and been done with it. It was obvious he ran solely to win. He will go to the preliminary round and get through to the NCAA Championship in the 5k before signing a contract and going to Europe to focus on World Championship qualifying.

He never intended to run it at regionals. He scratched the event. It turns out he would not have made it but the fact is that he scratched the event. He did not intend to run it.
He'll run the 5k then. Stop trying to pretend like he f'ed up and didnt qualify to NCAAs at all.
Haters gonna hate i guess.

Then why not run the 5000 at the conference meet?? They obviously wanted a regional mark as an option or else he wouldn’t have raced the 10k at conference and gotten so close.

Could’ve also done the 5k for 10 points?

Nike contract is already waiting for him once he finishes up with the NCAA and he will be running with MTC.

Well he was entered in both and DNS'd the 5k, according to FloTrack's live results. The plan was probably that if they had a really good meet and were within striking distance of 3rd place or something like that, he'd get points in the 5k, too. But since they had no shot at that, they saved mcDonald's energy.

Why not go an train? He ran in flats, comfortably for 8k. He has a sub-13:20 pb, what does running a 5k at the Big 10 Championship get him?

He didn't even enter the 10k for NCAAs. It was never the plan. If you look at the entries, he was listed as a scratch.
McHaters gonna Mchate, mate
He’s going to sign a contract with Under Armour and Mick is going to start a UA group in Madison.
Bank on it
can't even qualify in the 10k
probably killed his contract changes

Thats an interesting theory. Conjecture, proposal, or complete hogwash?

Somewhere between conjecture and proposal. He'll stay with Mick at least through the world champs. With Hoare having a year left it is likely he will be enticed to stay and there is the beginning of your group

There's also that other Aussie they're the Badgers are getting next year. There is a real possibility of Mick coaching an Australian group soon.
Please don’t coach. You’ll be one of those coaches who if the kid is a miler makes them run that event every week. There’s other events you know?

I hope not.
Start apro group in Madison? That makes no sense. UnderArmour if you want a pro group, do it in Baltimore and I'll coach the team.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
