I'm surprised nobody has nominated VIPAM yet. This thread and it's prediction is still, 16 years later, pretty remarkable.

I think Rexing and 430Miler for sure.
Probably put Mayeroff on there.
I honestly always liked Kartelite and Kaitanen's posts, if we're talking about people that actually posted quality stuff and weren't just dipsh!ts.
Not familiar with those two, I took a long break from the running scene some time back.
430miler might be the GOAT running forum troll for me- an obvious trail blazer for the innumerable trolls to follow. What a body of work. After seeing the other submissions he’s the only lock from my original list.
Canova probably deserves a spot for throwing on a haz mat suit and head gear to pop into this cess pool and take relentless sht from anonymous mouth breathers.

Ah yes, the primordial cesspool that gave birth to the salamander crawling through the muck that is the internet running forum. Or did Malmo create it in 7 days? Depends on your faith I guess!

This is true, and he also predicted that the 2003 5000m world championship medals would be between Bekele, El G, and Kipchoge (and a couple of others). This was impressive because it wasn't at all clear that El G would be doubling (I think he had only run three 5000m races before then) and Kipchoge, whilst an exciting talent, wasn't exactly seen as a medal threat I don't think at the time.
Having said that, you could argue that his prediction regarding Bekele was based on a correct guess that the much vaunted new EPO tests being introduced in 2004 were not going to be effective for a few more years yet.

Some of the best posters here are never registered and often switch handles. They of course have no interest in being mentioned in this little circle jerk.

The prediction was obvious to many, but the problem with VIPAM is he is not very bright so he keeps making predictions so now he is probably like 1 for 50. Not impressive at all.

Just like when ventolin predicted Mo’s 3:28 ability then let it go to his head.

What happened to Ventolin?
MEYEROFF, he was always good for a laugh and he used spam advertising on this board about his 666 Energy drink. (He was the guy that did like 22 mile treadmill runs at the gym in Thailand right?)
Ventolin, his ferocious passion toward T&F and his historical knowledge of the sport was impressive. Was also the biggest A-hole in the history of the site.
OldSub4, his knowledge in this thread:

formed my training for about 5 years. Probably the best training related thread in history.

I don't think LRC gets a Mt. Rushmore.
I think they get more of a confederate general statue down south that most people want to see taken down in lieu of something better but a small number of people say it's historic so it stays up and debate ensues.
