Man breaks tape set up for women's winnner at Glass City Marathon

That was funny. Her reaction was a little excessive. I doubt he broke the tape to be a jerk, I'm thinking at that point it just didnt register in his mind that the tape was for the first female.

Easy solution is to raise the banner overhead to let him pass under it and then drop it o the miserable woman can get her glorious moment.

He probably thought he was getting the Lance Armstrong special tape.

Not only is she fast (2:52) she's set up to be rich and successful as a pediatric doc.

The volunteers holding the tape should have known better. The guy looks like he also ran the full marathon, not some half marathon waddler, and it looks like they directed all the full marathon runners to that side of the cones. So he might have been confused why there was a tape but he wasn't going to cross the cones to finish in the HM line and he didn't really have time to get out of the way of the tape. But the volunteers should have known they were holding the tape for the first female runner and they appear clueless of that fact as they made no effort to signal them in the right direction.

Maybe he identifies female?

why didnt she outkick the hobbyjogger?

why didnt she blame the volunteers for not lifting the tape that was blocking the young males passage?

That’s a Harvard singlet. He doesn’t know any better or he is all for equal rights. Funny how a woman gets upset when an average guy beats her to the tape set up after a hundred guys already passed.

I remember the good old days where everybody just crossed the finish line marked with chalk, shook hands, got their award, and went home to train for the next race.

Are you implying that they only just started having finish line tape or are you 200 years old?

He was running the full marathon, and he properly ran on the left side of the long line of cones that separated the half and full marathon finishers. The longer video clip shows that, after she cursed him, he went back and apparently tried to apologize to her. She then said something to him. It should have been an apology. I doubt it was.

Not at the races I ran. (Except that one race where I won my high school's night invitational and broke the school record in the two mile.) I wouldn't have remembered that but there is a picture of me breaking the tape in the yearbook.
