White dude running fast? Definitely doping.

Never heard of this guy until now. What had he done prior? Very impressive.

What was the wind on that? 9.98 is out of control. He had run 10.2 legal and 10.11 with wind apparently, but 9.98? He didn't even get a great start but came on and destroyed a field that ran 10.27/10.30. I'm thinking with that field and that improvement he had to have a very favorable wind. 9.99 was the hs record legal, right? Immensely impressive what he has done, regardless.

Fast kid no doubt, but look at the official's white flag at the end. There was one hell of a tailwind pushing everyone down the that track.

Um not wind legal so he doesn't count officially. There are atleast 3 wind legal that i know off of the top of my head: Ramil Guliyev, Filippo Tortu and Christophe Lemaitre. If you count wing aided then John Teeters and Matthew Boling make it 5 that i know

Another thread said this was +4.2 m/s wind, so another run close to 10.2. Still, he's running far ahead of comp and it will be interesting to see what he runs with low 10 or sub 10 guys later on this year.

Converting it for wind, it's equivalent to a 10.16 in still conditions according to Jonas Mureika's calculator. The run reminds us very much of Odapele Thompaon's 9.69 in 1996 when he was a 20-year old at UTEP. (5.0 m/s). Thompson was a great sprinter (Olympic bronze in 2000) but his career best with a legal wind was 9.96.

26' 3" long jump (wind legal) this month.............46.15 400 as an 11th grader last year.............

No, if you count wind aided then there's a bunch more. In recent years I know Reus, Kilty, and Keller have all gone sub 10.

Don't worry. The powers that be will combine to make sure that once he gets out of high school he won't run the 100 or 200, maybe not even the 400. And they'll steer him away from the long jump. Don't want to give anyone in a certain part of the population the wrong ideas.

You are pretty dense.

Little League Baseball has it right. Little League Baseball does not allow older kids to compete against younger kids. Little League Baseball goes by age, not level of formal education. I'd like to see U.S.A. high school track & field go away from school grade to age. Matt Boling, athletically should be competing against athletes at Power 5 conference universities instead of beating up on high school kids. Was he held back for an athletic advantage by his parents? Was Boling held back for academic/learning disability reasons? No 19 year old should be able to compete in U.S. high school athletics.
