1) This once again proves that Tinman-oriented training ("keep the ball rolling") is not just the best to get to a decent level, but also very good for elites.
2) You gotta love his modesty. “My preparation has been good. I am fit,” he said. “I think I will have a good result.” Compare that to American runners, like Ritz claiming they gonna win Boston Marathon and then running 2:17 or something. Kipchoge actually got the right to brag, but he is still extremely modest and doesn't underestimate his competition. He knows anything can happen on race day.
If I did things at my job at 80% I’d be fired

Maybe Tinman is secretly coaching Kipchoge? On some other thread some poster pointed out that Kipchoge was doing critical velocity training .... That really would put Tinman into legendary coaching status.

So when you are at your job, you are working at 100% of your mental and physical capabilities?

I agree. Lots of dillusional people out here.
To be fair, "a good result" for Kipchoge would be at least getting the victory let alone running a fast time, so he was also basically saying he is going to win.

Geez, if I gave 80% effort I’d probably get a raise and promotion.
Sent while enroute to work approximately 90 minutes late

Oh news alert guys! Kiochoge doesn't train all out!
It's better to train a little too slow than a little too fast.
Further proof that hard work doesn't guarantee success. Kipchoge is a genetic freak and knows how to leave a little extra in the tank.

Back when tinman was a regular poster on LR he accused everyone for stealing his training methods: Daniels, Canova, Vigil etc. So basically there has only been 2 great coaches fromm the early 1960s: Lydiard and tinman.

Nah, it's called train don't strain.

Are you saying that Kipchoge doesn´t work his ass off? His training would sent eveyone on LR to hospital after two weeks.

I don’t think so

Idiot. You had a point there until you misquoted Ritz.
Classic sand bagging. That is all.
The important thing is anyone who has trained for very long is NOT to leave your race in the workouts. Better to be a little undertrained than a little overtrained

This isn't what Ritz said.
You guys realize that Kipchoge was running marathons before Tinman started training professionals, right? Tinman is in year 2 of serious coaching, unless you call a high school miler serious coaching. I don't.
