Remember when this board was outraged when a couple of the Bowerman women chose not to participate in WC?
I wish that they all would of stayed home.

I wish young people would of learned good grammar. From their performances I would assume that they raced essentially untapered for this. They probably still were close to the best team we could put on the starting line right now.
Coach Shalane was in charge of this one. Coach Jerry stayed home.

Irony....

I was going to say the same thing, but I think it was intentional.

Or how about the fact that they do all their workouts around a turf field or on the track, minus hills. In ZERO way does that prepare them for what the World XC course was.

So true. However, as mentioned in the broadcast, the US always sends a full team to these championships. Whether it is the B or C team or just up-and-comers, we send junior teams and senior teams. Other than 3 or 4 E. African teams and Japan, I don't think any other country consistently participates like the US.

Nuns with rulers they weren't afraid to use taught me the difference between "of" and "have".
Do you think Coach Shalane instead of Jerry played a role in bad performance? Sometimes it is tough for an elite athlete to get out of the spotlight.
I don't think any Americans have any experience running on a course like the one in Denmark. I wouldn't blame anyone too much. I also frankly don't think it was that high a priority for the Babes. Nor is there any reason it should have been.
It was a high enough priority that Courtney and Karissa were in tears for nearly an hour afterward. It was like a middle school kid.
Karissa podium-placed for hottest runner.
That is all.
Any athlete that cries after a poor performance is out. Total deal breaker. Same with smokers or neck tattoos.

Yes. Anyone who smokes or takes up smoking after a poor performance is out. Likewise with anyone who gets a neck tattoo after a poor performance. Crying, smoking, neck tattoos -- all the same. Glad to know someone agrees with me.

I'm with you. The OP's title makes no sense. I think he meant to say they "stank it up," but it's LRC, so who knows.
I think that Jerry is the best Coach in the country but when all 3 of his runners ran as poorly as they did at Aarhus that falls on him and not the athletes. They were not prepared.

I hate neck tattoos. Especially on women.

Don't blame Jerry or Shalane. Courtney Frerichs screwed up. She did all of the pre-race interviews, like a superstar, and then raced like an elephant. No leadership from her.
What about Mariele Hall and Karissa Schweizer?
All 3 ran horribly.
