Hummmm...not that I have anything against out of the country runners, however, much of the success that both Barton and Butler have is from their distance runners (and Barton in the sprints) who are from not from the states. If all were created equal, take out the foriegn runners..things would be more even...
And unless I am mistaken, two years ago in the NJCAA Region 5 championships they ran both divisions together at the same time, I & II, in which Cloud County had the first two or three runners (which are D-II) to come in before anyone from Butler...and also, had it been scored as one meet, Cloud would have won. As a former Juco coach, I do understand that having good foreign runners is not for the most part being a great coach, but, being a great recruiter. I can't express how many times a JUCO brings over an African who has very impressive times, yet they never reach or run those times while at that JUCO...but even their slower times are better than the average 18 & 19 year old American....
Let me end with this, I do think the foriegn runners work hard and I am glad that they do attend American colleges.
