For about 8-9 months I've been experiencing chronic, more or less non-stop exhaustion and muscular fatigue/weakness. It's left me unable to function; I come home from work and basically sit in a chair the rest of the day, since physical effort wipes me out in a way I've never experienced from running or any physical activity.
I'm no longer physically able to run, not from injury, but because it's difficult to maintain a 10 minute mile pace without my legs feeling like they'll buckle. Ascending stairs is now physically arduous for me (and I used to be able to do 70 miles a week, and run high-16 paces for 5K).
I've gotten many tests done (iron, ferritin, thyroid, etc.), and everything has always been normal, with one exception. The testosterone levels I've been tested for are consistently low, once in the mid-200's, and another time 102 ng/dL. For reference, I'm not much past 30.
Is the exhaustion and weakness I am experiencing in any way correlated with low testosterone levels, or is it more likely to be some other cause?
If the former, what can I do to solve the problem? I've heard that taking testosterone can be risky because over time your body becomes reliant and unable to produce its own. But right now the misery and lack of functioning caused by this problem has come unbearable, and I'm willing to try almost anything to resolve it.
Thank you in advance to anyone who takes the time to read and advise.
