Sad time for the once "mighty" Mo. Rupp had a sub 60 prior to his marathon last year.
Looks like this is the end of the mobot.
No worries mate. As per Mo's interiview post-race: "'I will now spend three days at home with my family and then it is back to training (in Ethiopia) for the London Marathon. "
You know what he means by "training" don't you?
Easy workout at his marathon pace. Look for a sub-2:03 from the MoBot.
Weather looked almost perfect. All the women in bikini outfits. Temperature was ideal. I love running in a breeze...controls the sweating better.
I am sad to say that I agree with OP... winning a big race against a tough field is quite a disaster. Kipchoge can comfortably take a week off from training and hit the buffet every day. I have been saying Mo is toast since he ran that terrible 13:41 5k at the 2012 Olympics. You can’t get away with running college times on the big stage!
We added this note to the first post.
Editor's note: The OP is either an idiot or troll. Farah won the race in blustery conditions in a 3-way sprint over Bashir Abdi and former London Marathon champ Daniel Wanjiru. Afterwards, he expressed optimism about his London Marathon prospects.
I don't see how you can hate on Rupp but love Farah... they're both just as dirty as the other

Rupp does not need to go to Ethiopia. He is more naturally suited for long distance running.
Ethiopia is the wild west of doping. Farah is far worse of a doper than Rupp.

He's a troll and you already know that. The post was to create hits. Be happy, it worked.

What? It's not like Farah has ever missed any tests or associated with coaches highly suspected of doping.

Indeed! The same coach as Galen Rupp.

Oh? Are we talking about the same Doorbell Farah?

I know these are wasted words because "winning is what matters" and indeed Mo has been very good at winning. But the way he raced here was just annoying. He never leads, always stays a step or two behind, and waits until literally 50-150m to go before outsprinting two guys that quite frankly should be more than a tier below him. And the way he continually looks back and gesticulates while outsprinting them - I just think it's obnoxious and cocky. Basically it looked like what would happen if a 4:20 highschooler decided to run a JV meet and just sat on two 4:45 guys until the last 100m when he blows by them, all the while gesticulating to the crowd to cheer for his ridiculous performance.
I mean I get it, Mo can outsprint almost anyone. We all get it and we've all gotten it for the past what, 7-8 years? I just don't get why he always feels the need to do the bare minimum necessary to win. Was he really not confident enough in his ability to drop Wanjiru and Abdi from a mile , 2miles, 5k out? Even if he'd just have went away at 800m to go. But waiting until 50m to outsprint a guy (Wanjiru) who looks like he might not be able to crack 54 in the open 400m - come on. At any rate, his often obnoxious personality and the fact that he seems to like and care about winning far, far, far more than running are what prevent me from being a fan. I feel like the most essential quality that unites every runner, and makes the pros relatable if only in a miniscule way, is the drive to be better and push our bodies beyond what we (or perhaps the world) thought was possible. With Mo I have almost never gotten the sense that he even has this feeling. Which isn't his fault, and isn't a huge deal, he's still got heaps of gold medals. But I think most of us can agree that Kipchoge's spirt of bold, fearless, disciplined, and humble striving to surpass all previously known limits is a much better emblem of the sport.
I agree with most of what you're saying, but not sure I'd put this at Mo's door. Mo has done this race and the Great North Run for the last few years and despite both races having the budget to put some people in to challenge him they never do. Mo has shown time and again that he cares more about winning than times, don't expect that to change.

It is unfortunate that Mo has never had the opportunity to run a fast time during his short career (excluding his two fast 1500m in Monaco).
Once again, external factors have affected his time.
Lol. Never had the opportunity?!
He had all the opportunities in the world. He is a beta runner, that is sitting and kicking hoping always for a slow race. The only unfortunate thing for him is that this isn’t checkers anymore, this is chess with heavy guns like Kipchoge. No is lucky if he gets third place
Kipchoge outsprints Farah and outkicks him any day of the week.

You do understand how running a race works? It is about getting over the finish line before anyone else fairly and sportingly. Nobody has ever toed the line thinking that they will win a race by running as hard as they can for the first half of a race then dropping out.

Lol. Mo had a wittle wind? Awwww. Takes so little to derail that snowflake. Meanwhile, in Boston last year, it was much colder, blowing harder, and raining hard! People were drenched and getting hypothermic...resulting in most of the elite field dropping out. Remember in Chicago last year...Galen the Great ran a friggin 2:06 with an injury!! No one else would have enough toughness to have finished that marathon.
I remember MOHAMMED beating Rupp in Chicago. Decimated him. Destroyed him.
I'm not a Rupp fan, as I have repeatedly stated, but at the moment I'm in need of some achilles surgery and I would guess my achilles injury is worth 6-15s per km, so 2:06 is quite impressive, though mine was 'Rupptured'
