I was born and lived in California for a while but was raised and lived most of my life in Florida and have developed a strong dislike for the northeast and the people that live there. I have spent several weeks and traveled throughout the northeast numerous times including going to NYC more times than I can count.
Every time I've been there I have been somewhat repulsed by it. I can't imagine how someone would want to live there or tolerate the culture. Everyone is simply hustling for themselves, little to no regard for manners or the feelings of others, and a lot of times blatantly rude. The only appeal I can see is that there is always something to do and new places to be but it doesn't make up for living somewhere where the weather is constantly dismal. It literally looks like everything, the weather included, is the color grey. The Massholes are some of the most obnoxious people on earth.
Despite being a southerner I am left leaning by still enjoy the style of life in the south where everyone greets each other amicably and takes everything slower. I got scoffed at simply for asking a waitress in New York "Do y'all have sweet tea here". Someone please change my mind.
