I wish I could go home devastated like that.
Worse things have happened to runners. He probably learnt a lot by running there at the Armory and missing a WR by .01 seconds. He will likely run harder to the line and have no let up during the race. Molly Huddle kicked a lot butt in her next races after letting up at the line in the 2015 World Championship 10K. It will be more interesting to me to see how he reacts in his races. The Melrose games were great exposure for him. Just my humble opinion.
Urine an idiot. Period
That run today proved the real reason why Centro switched to BTC. He couldn't handle getting destroyed by a teammate like he would have been...
He better be devastated. This was advertised as a world record attempt. He didn't even get the African record.
And I go out and GLOAT because a guy who is not even a miler and rarely runs indoors can scare the world indoor record because.... BANKED TRACKS.
Pit all the world's top elites in serious competition on these tracks, and records drop at least 1 second from 1500 up. Prove me wrong.
as well as those records noted on the front page, Kejelcha's mile is also the fastest mile run in the state of New York, but not yet the fastest mile run in the US (though it is the fastest indoor mile run in the US). that honour remains with Ayanleh Souleiman (DJI) who ran 3:47.32 at the Bowerman Mile in Eugene, OR on 31 May 2014.

cheers.
El G didn't have that many cracks at it I'm sure. No one has come close to his WR mile so no they are still not as good despite all of the doping past and present.
Yes Badwigins I was addressing you...no one will dare come close and expose themselves.
How do you determine whether a runner is .01 second ahead or behind? What are the official rules for judging this? And is distance running timed as strictly as sprinting events, or do biased judges rattle off random times?

You remind of a lot of the professors you'll see on campuses, they are really intelligent, yet they are really stupid at the same time.

And you remind me of the innocent idiot everyone scams in school.
Bad wigins is a troll, has been for years.
Not at all.
Seriously, prove me wrong. Insults all you got? Well that's par for the course anyhow.

You're a period, idiot.
The guy will be devastated indeed.
Half of this board are proclaiming him better than Bekele and he misses El G's weakest record by far, even when as Bad Wiggins says indoor tracks are faster now than outdoors for distance.
Only Jakob is capable of taking down El G's records. Yomif is 21 and can't do it. We haven't even seen Jakob race on a track as an adult yet, and look at the times he's ran already. Jakob is going to pick off El G's records one by one, probably starting with the mile indoor next winter.

Don't worry about all the haters here Bad Wigins. You are the most clever person on letsrun. I wish we could meet and I could literally pick your brains.

When will you wankers learn? Nothing humble about saying “in my humble opinion.” So cringy.
Can't we say it's practically a WR tie? Why obsess over .01 second? I know there's IAAF and all that, but come on, can't we be practical and recognize ?
